Back to back good weeks for the Doofus
A good week for MEGA BETTING as the Big Book of Guesses 2.0 went 3-1 in Week 7 (VEGAS BABY weekend +1)
UCF -5.5 @ Marshall - In the midst of a downpour and lightning which stopped play for 90 minutes in the second quarter (and a weird cancellation of halftime) UCF's defense dominated - holding Marshall to 37 yards of rushing. Meanwhile
UCF rushed for 248 yds and crushed the Herd 35-14 covering the 5.5 point spread WIN
Auburn -3.5 versus Arkansas - Auburn QB Cam Newton strengthened his Heisman hopes as he ran for 3 TDs and threw for a fourth. Meanwhile Arkansas had to go to its back up QB after Ryan Mallett went out with a concussion. Tyler Wilson threw for 4 TDs but it was not enough as Auburn won 65-43 in a wild shoot out on the Plains. WIN

Air Force -1 @ SDSU - San Diego St had its first win over a ranked team in 14 years in a wild finish. Air Force thought it they had the game tied with 2:08 left in the game but its 2 point conversion was overruled. SDSU recovered the onside kick and scored on the next play to lead 27-18. AF then scored with 7 seconds left - losing
27-25 and failing to cover the 1 point spread LOSS
Iowa -3.5 @ Michigan - Iowa scored its most points ever against UM. Jumping to a 28-7 lead - Iowa held on as
Tater Tot Forcier (In for an injured - again - D Robinson) led UM to two 4th quarter scores. But it was not enough as Iowa won 38-28 covering the 3.5 point spread WIN
The Point Whore Parlay went 1-2 as
West Virginia beat South Florida 20-6 covering the 10.5 spread LOSS
Rice slipped by Houston 34-31 while getting 10 points WIN
Georgia crushed Vandy 43-0 easily covering the 15.5 point spread LOSS
This week I will go with:
Western Michigan -7.0 @ Akron - Akron is battling it out with New Mexico for the worst team in 1A football. At 0-7 the aptly named Zips are 112th in offense and 104th in defense out of 120 teams. Western is 2-4 but its 4 losses are against teams that will likely be playing in a bowl. With an easy slate the rest of the way WMU will try to stay in contention for a bowl whie Akron is giving up on the season.
Ohio State -23.5 vs Purdue - Coming into the season this was going to be a revenge game for OSU as the Boilers
derailed the Bucknuts national title hopes last year 26-18. Now OSU will be even more fired up after laying an egg last week against Wisconsin in primetime. The home crowd will be fired up and the sweatervest will roll up.
Kansas City -9 vs Jacksonville - When I was reviewing my picks last night, I was looking at taking KC -4.5.
This morning the spread has gone to 9 with word that Jax QB David Garrard will be out and may have to go with 3rd string QB Todd Bouman. I still like KC here returning home (where they are undefeated straight up and ATS) after two tough losses.
For the Point Whore Parlay I'll take:
Washington State +35 @ Stanford
Colorado State +30.5 @ Utah
Rutgers +13 @ Pitt
27-25 and failing to cover the 1 point spread LOSS
Iowa -3.5 @ Michigan - Iowa scored its most points ever against UM. Jumping to a 28-7 lead - Iowa held on as
