The Irish were not feeling too lucky last week
Lot of good games last week. ND and Michigan decided to go defense free at the end of their games with 3 touchdowns being scored in the last 1:12 of the game.
MSU held FAU to one first down for the entire game in a 44-0 romp.
Bama's defense forced three PSU turnovers as they cruised to a 27-3 late fourth quarter lead. At one point in the third quarter, Bama nearly intercepted 5 straight Lion passes. Penn State scored a TD with 2 minutes left finally losing 27-11.
In a wild game Friday night, Missouri came from 14 points down in the 4th quarter to tie it, only to miss the winning FG with 12 seconds left. Arizona won it with a TD in OT to win 37-30.
A scary moment in the Minnesota - New Mexico State game. As Minny was going down for a tying TD with 25 seconds left - HC Jerry Kill had a seizure and was taken to the hospital. He returned to practice on Thursday and is apparently doing OK.
The most controversial game as far as Vegas was concerned was USC and Utah. Utah went to kick a tying FG on the last play of regulation when USC blocked the kick and scored a TD. But the refs called an unsportsman like penalty negating the TD - leaving the score at 17-14. Since the spread at kickoff was 7.5 - Ute backers started cashing their tickets. A full 2 1/2 hours later the Pac 12 ruled that the penalty was a dead ball foul and therefore the TD was good. Why they decided to overrule the refs on the field had everyone wondering as it had no effect on the outcome (USC won either way) other than to make the final score 23-14.
Now Vegas was in a pickle as USC covered the spread. Some casinos ignored the ruling and still paid Utah tickets. Most started paying only USC tickets, screwing Utah backers who waited too long to cash in while Stations casino paid for both sides. Trust me when I say that the Strip is really pissed off at the Pac-12 and rules wil be established to handle these kind of situations.

The Big Book of Guesses had a pretty mediocre week going 33-29-3 (including a perfect 4-0 on over/unders). The Sax Man started out well going 2-1 while the Doofus was the big winner going a perfect 3-0!
Week 2 Results:
South Carolina +3 @ Georgia - South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney scored his secondtouchdown in the game with 3 minutes left to clinch a 45-42 victory over Georgia. In a wild finish - the Gamecocks were down 35-31 with a little over 3 minutes left. South Carolina punched it in from 3 yards out to go up 38-35. On the ensuing drive, Clowney sacked Georgia QB Aaron Murray, the fumble was picked up by Mark Ingram and ran in for a TD. Georgia scored again in a 3 play 55 yard drive to leave the final at South Carolina 45 Georgia 42. The Richt hot seat just jumped quite a few degrees in temperature WIN
Houston -22.5 @ North Texas - dark hose Heisman candidate, Houston QB Case Keenum, threw for 458 yards with five touchdowns, including three in a nine-minute span of the third quarter as the Houston finally broke the game wide open. North Texas' first game in its new stadium was spoiled as Houston jumped ahead 41-17 early in the fourth quarter and held on for a 41-23 victory WIN
Detroit +1.5 @ Tampa Bay - Matthew Stafford stayed healthy for a game, throwing for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns. Calvin Johnson caught 2 TDs including this beauty in the second quarter Sky time With catch, Calvin is tied for the most TD receptions since 2008.The Lions dominated the game. Only a late Tampa TD made the score close. Final Detroit 27 Bucs 20 WIN
Some interesting games ths week including the Inelig-Bowl when Ohio State travels to Miami (FL). The bigger game in Florida occurs when Oklahoma comes to Tallahassee to take on Florida State. The Sooners destroyed FSU last year 47-17 so the Noles will be looking for some big time revenge. The Tigers square off when Clemson hosts Auburn. Auburn has won two straight in the last minute and won last years game in OT 27-24.
The Sax Man sent over his picks for week 3 going with -
LSU (-3.5) over Miss St.: As much as I hate to admit it, LSU is damn good. To me, they're the best team in the semi-professional league known as the Southeastern Conference. They're defense shut down the other MSU last year and only allowed 7 points. More of the same on this thursday night SEC matchup (when's the last time that happened?). Tigers win big. (He sent this over before game time)
Auburn (+3.5) over Climpsun:
War Eagle! Auburn is a team that will play anyone close this year. Climpsun didn't even beat by Wofford by more than a TD. Good Ol' Boy Dabo Sweeny just doesn't seem to be able to get production out of his teams. Can't see this game being more than a field goal either way. Even if the purple accented tigers beat the navy accented tigers, it won't be more than three.
Michigan State (+5.0) over Notre Dame: How are the Domers favored in this one? And by 4 and a half no less? Boggles my mind. This game is probably decided by a field goal either way. I like the Spartans to win this game, but the 4.5 is a nice little cushion.

Houston (-2.5) over Miami: Miami actually impressed me last week, as much as a team that loses by two touchdowns can. But I like Houston's defense more than the Patriots and Houston will make it 2-0 against the AFC's two worst teams.
Nice picks!
I'll go with
Week 3 Mega Bets:
Michigan State +5.0 @ Notre Dame - Notre Dame is playing loose on defense and turning the ball over at a rapid clip. The turnovers will stop but so will the offense. Michigan State's defense is solid and so is their offense. State will keep this close and wait for inevitable ND implosion. Consider taking the money line on Sparty.
Hawaii -20.0 @ UNLV - The Running Rebs are a disaster this year losing their two opening games by a combined score of 130-24. UNLV is dead last in passing defense about to take on the high flying Rainbow Warrior attack. Hawaii has not fully uncorked their aerial circus yet - but this will be the week.
Detroit -7.5 vs Kansas City - Kansas City's defense was AWOL last week in a 41-7 beat down handed out by the Bills. Now there best defender, Safety Eric Berry, is out for the year with a blown ACL. Calvin will have a field day against a depleted secondary.
