WV looked like they would rather dance than play offense
West Virginia -3 vs NC State - Well that blew
Now I know why West Virginia hired a new OC as coach in waiting for next year. Even with Noel Devine back healthy - the 'Neers made themselves one dimensional by completely abandoning the run game. Devine was given the ball only 8 times for 50 yds. 28 of those yds came on a nice run to open the 4th qtr which he then fumbled. Turnovers were a killer for WVA as they lost 4 fumbles and 1 INT. The defense was actually not bad even though they let up the most points they have all season at 23.
Midway through the game was 16-7 with NC St having made 3 40+ yd FGs and WVA having missed 2. NC St scored its last TD with 4 minutes left after WVA fumbled it away on their own 7 on a punt return - grooooan. Let's see - terrible play calling, turnovers out the wazoo and poor special teams. Yup - that's the recipe for losing games. Should have taken the under.

Fits right in with last night’s theme as all three underdogs won outright. WVA was a three point favorite, Iowa upset Missouri 27-24 as a three point dog in a great game and Minnesota stunned the Eagles 24-14 as a heavy 14 point
underdog. LOSS
Today there are three games on tap. I'm going to make picks on just one
OK State -3 vs Arizona - If last nights game was a defensive slugfest -this game is going to be all about the offense, OK St has the 2nd best air attack with Arizona closely behind at number 9. The Cowboys are led by Bilitnekov winner WR Justin Blackmon. Blackmon became the first NCAA player ever to have 100 yds and at least 1 TD in every game he played. Also for the 'Boys is RB Kendall Hunter who quietly had 1,516 yds and 16 yds on the season. The Wildcats are led by former MSU QB Nick Foles who is completing 2/3 of his passes for 237 yds per game.
Playing in a dome -conditions are ideal for a great aerial show. This game may come down to who has the ball last. I think OK St has a little more fire power and will make just enough stops to get the win.
In the other two matchups - at 2:30 - Maryland travels a few minutes down the road to RFK stadium to take on East Carolina. ECU has the worst defense in Div 1A ranking dead last in yds allowed and 118th in points allowed. The
live and die by trying to outscore you through the air. Maryland ranks in the middle of the pack in both offense and defense and should be able to beat the Pirates (though ECU feasts on beating ACC schools) - just not sure they
can cover a 7.5 spread. If weather conditions were a little worse I would take the Terps but temps are expected to be in the mid 40's with slight breezes - not enough to slow down ECU
At 6:00 Illinois is a 1.5 dog to Baylor - to be honest I would be all over Baylor in this game as QB Robert Griffin is the real deal and the Illini defense has really struggled in the second half of the year. But I took Illinois in my confidence pool ( I took all Big Ten teams except Michigan of course) and I don't want to be rooting against myself.
