The Man Cave needs a new name
The Man Cave is going to need a rebrandng. According to this years list from Lake Superior State University of the most over used and "should be banned" terms - Man cave was near the top. Don't disagree with that one - so I will have to come up with a new name for the former Man Cave. Right now I am leaning towards the Fortress of Fun.
The gang is coming over Monday for lots of good football. I'm sure they will have plenty of derogatory replacements.
Last week was yet another winning week of Mega Bets. Even more fun was that all the games came down to the last minutes. The Doofus went through a stocking full of Rolaids.

Miami +9.5 @ New England - This one seemed in the bag early as the Fins jumped out to a 17-0 halftime lead. But the Pats went to the no huddle and scored on their first five possessions of the second half - taking a 27-17 lead with three minutes left. The Doofus was steaming until Santa left an early Christmas present. Matt Moore threw a 15 yard TD pass with 1:48 left to get the back door cover. nice! Final Brady's Boys 27 Miami 24 WIN

San Diego @ Detroit Over 52.0 - Since when did Detroit start playing pass defense? Actually Phil Rivers reverted to his back to his 2011 mid season form playing like Mike in the Turkey Bowl. He went a pitiful 28 for 53 and 2 picks. Detroit was able to hold San Diego scoreless until mid way through the third quarter. Still the over was still in reach when Detroit DE Cliff Avril scored a 4 yard pick six with 2:28 left. If San diego could get a meaningless TD then I could get the over. But nooooo - with 2 timeouts left and the two minute warning - SD runs out the clock. crap! Norv Turner needs to be fired! Final Lions 38 Dolts 10 LOSS
Baylor -9.0 vs Washington - Now here was the game where I should have taken over. With both teams playing MAC like defense optional football - Baylor and Washington went on a scoring extravaganza. In a game with huge momentum shifts - Baylor jumped out early to a 21-7 lead. Washington then took over the game and after its opening drive of the second half was up 42-24. Normally, if you are giving 9 points and down by 18 - its over. Not this game. Baylor took back Big Mo and led 60 to 56 with 8 minutes left. I stil needed one more TD to get the cover. With two minutes left Baylor was bleeding the clock when RB Terrance Ganaway burst through the middle for a 43 yd TD run. In this game 2 minutes was enough for about 4 scores - but Washington fumbled away the kick return and Baylor ran out the clock. Another gift - I'll take it. Final Baylor 67 Huskies 56 WIN
The Mega Bets are now 12-4 post Vegas.
College football is sprinting to the end with lots of good games on tap. The NFL will be a mess with teams resting players and roster littered with injuries so this week I will go with
Week 18 Mega Bets:
Houston +2.0 vs Tennessee - Houston has nothing to play for since they are locked into the number 3 seed in the AFC. But they need some offensive momentum as TJ Yates is beginning to regress. Meanwhile Houston WR Andre Johnson might be back to jump start the passing game. Tennessee will probably have CJ20 but he is dinged up. Houston is the better team getting points at home. I'll take the points and the Texans.
Pittsburgh -7.0 @ Cleveland - Big Ben is probable for the game. He is targeted to get 25-30 snaps for the game. Expect most of those to be hand offs to Rashard Mendenhall to try and gouge a lousy Browns run defense. Meanwhile Steeler LB James Harrison is back after a one game suspension for a vicious hit on Brown's QB Colt McCoy on Dec 8th. McCoy amy or may not play but it won't matter. The Steelers will gear up for a long playoff run but pummeling the hapless Brownies.
South Carolina -2.5 vs Nebraska - Nebraska has gone 9-3 this year behind an efficient option running game. The best way to stop the spread is with a great defensive line. South Carolina's defense line has been outstanding this year led 2011 number 1 high school recruit Jadeveon Clowney. South Carolina has overcome a ton of adversity this year and will get a late TD from WR Alshon Jeffery to get the win and cover.
Oregon -6.0 vs Wisconsin - Just above it takes a great defense to beat the spread offense. LSU beat Oregon behind a great defense but Wisconsin's won't. There defense is not that great. Statistically the Badgers look good. But they beat a ton of cupcakes in Camp Randall inflating the stats. In a back and forth game the Ducks will slowly put away the Badgers and cover the 6.
Oklahoma State -3.5 vs Stanford - Stanford is simply overrated. The one time they faced a high powered offense they were clobbered by Oregon 53-30 at home. Oklahoma State is as good or better then Oregon. And keep in mind that the Cowboys have an outside chance to win the National Championship if they blast Stanford and Bama wins a close one over LSU. Okie State will take care of their end of business by blowing out Stanford
