The Ladies enjoyed the fine comforts of Bruce's home
College Football is only 3 months away!!
I spent the Memorial Day weekend remembering our heroes and partying with the gang and their graduating seniors. Bruce had a great party for his son. The menfolk stayed mainly outside smoking some fine cigars while the women stayed to themselves discussing our various faults. By the time it was done I could see the cows coming home in the distance.
And Dan had another party to christen the latest addition to the Scallywag Slats including a gazebo and decorative LED lights. It was a stone groove man!
Our Las Vegas Hotel came out with the Win total lines for the NFL. Last year Pat and I cleaned up on the Lions and Spartans. This year the lines are

Vegas is prediciting another bad year for the Brownies
To read the table – the line for Arizona is 6.5 wins. The LVH is handicapping the line a bit since to bet the Under you have to put down $130 to win $100. So they think Arizona will come in slightly under. The Over wins $110 on a $100 bet. Last year the Cardinals went 8-8 or 1.5 games better than the prediction for this year. The LVH is not very high on the boys from Phoenix.
In 2011 the Lions were an easy bet going 10-6 when the line was 7.5 This year the line is set at 9.0 or one game worse than last year's record. They shaded the line a little bit to the upside with the over at bet $120 to win $100. Tough call – might leave that one alone.
Some lines I do like are Miami going 1.5 games better at 7.5 Unless the quarterbacking gets better they are going to struggle in the same division as New England, Jets and an improving Buffalo. I’ll take the under. I liked the under at 8.0 last year too and it paid off.
San Diego is expected to get better by a game too with the line set at 9.0 I think Phil Rivers has lost the team and the Bolts will flounder. The LVH likes the under too with the under set at bet $130 to win $100.
Denver is not getting a whole lot of respect. The line is set at 8.5 or only half a game better than what they did last year. Seems that I recall some new great QB headed their way. Must have been a dream I had after my second pitcher of margaritas. I’ll take the over. It’s pricey though at bet $150 to win $100.
