The final tune up to the big Book of Guesses is in process
It's almost here! Only 1 more week before College football starts.
Not everything is hunky dory on the gridiron these days. After players from Oregon were caught cruising at a leisurely 118 mph smoking some medicinal weed - LSU was not about to be outdone by their opening day opponent. In celebration of the end of two a days, 20-30 players went to local drinking establishment (called Shady's no less) only to get involved in a brawl. Now that is SEC football!
4 players have been investigated by the police including starting QB Jordan Jefferson and 5 star WR recruit Jarvis Landry. With so many players (on both teams) susceptible to being suspended for the game - Vegas has pulled the line. What a mess.

Miami (FL) looks like it will try the Tar Heel approach to handling players under suspicion. Apparently they looking to suspend 12 players until the NCAA completes its investigation into the Nevin Shapiro allegations. In the meantime, game planning in Coral Gables is a might bit confused as they do not know who will play in their opener against Maryland next Sunday. Casinos are pulling that line too.
On a more upbeat note - one tradition at Auburn (rated the second best tradition by Sports Illustrated) is to release the War Eagle as the team takes the field. Recently, Auburn's engineering program came up with a cool device - a robotic War Eagle. Hit the link to see the War Eagle!! Maybe they were worried the War Eagle would go AWOL like the Air Force Falcon did in the Independence Bowl this past season Falcon goes AWOL
Coaches do try to reign in expectations and lower the bar at this time of year but New Mexico State's HC DeWayne Walker is really pessimistic “It’s just being competitive. Everybody can talk about bowl games, everybody can talk about winning seasons. I don’t think we’re to that level yet.” Bummer - not even a winning season? Actually I agree. Coach Walker has led his team to 2-10 and 3-10 seasons and it is doubtful he will do any better this year. I expect there will be a couple of Mega Bets placed against the Aggies this year.
GO JUMBO!!
