The MSU blow out of Michigan keeps on giving.
On Friday Michigan announced that after:
1. Changing the student section to general admission at the Big Hole
2. Raising ticket prices to the highest in the Big Ten despite a crappy schedule and worse team
3. Then reversing course and announcing a ticket price decrease next year
4. An aborted Buy 2 cokes and get and get a football ticket promotion
5. Hiring a plane to fly a GO BLUE banner over Spartan Stadium, denying he hired the plane then later admitting to it
6. The whole Shane Morris incident
7. Emailing disgruntled fans to “find a new team”
8. But ultimately for hiring Brady Hoke who just can’t seem to beat MSU (let alone OSU)
AD Dave Brandon “resigned” and was replaced with an interim AD.
And during the Q&A, President Mark Schlissel didn’t directly answer the question but alluded pretty heavily that this was just the first step in hiring a new Head Coach. The interim AD, Jim Hackett, is a Michigan Man having played with Hoke under Schembechler.
No word if Hackett is a candidate to have the interim tag removed. But if not, lets hope that scUM continues to circle the the drain by looking for another Michigan Man to be AD and head coach.
And another great story about the game –three hours before the game legendary Spartan RB, Bob Apisa, gave a game ball from one of his games to Mark Dantonio. It was not just any game ball but the one from the true “Game of the Century” the 1966 10-10 MSU ND game.
Since the game was a tie, Duffy didn’t hand out a game ball. But the equipment manager kept the ball and gave it to Apisa. Apisa kept it all these years and then at a luncheon three hours before kickoff surprised Dantonio by donating the ball to MSU. What a fantastic gesture.
After the game, Dantonio invited Apsia to the locker room and gave him game ball from the Michigan game. Nice touch.
But my favorite story from the game was what happened afterwards. Long after the fans had left and the parties started in East Lansing. After the Wolverines headed home and started working on their excuses. The MSU band and UM band got together to make this formation

#Chadtough is a hashtag to support Chad Carr. Chad is the four year old grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. Chad was recently diagnosed with an aggressive, inoperable brain tumor.
It’s moments like this that make college sports so great. Two programs that despise each other get together to support a little kid and his family in the most horrific of circumstances.

It’s only two week until Vegas and the Mega Bets have been downright pathetic. Well, for the Doofus that is. GO JUMBO attendees are hoping the streak continues so that they can pick against the Doofus.
And the Sheriff pulled out of his recent nose dive by going 3-0 last week. Sticking with his knitting he went back to picking the PAC 12 with great results as
Oregon (-17.5) over Cal. Down 24 late in the game, Cal got a TD. Deciding their only hope was to score 3 TDs and getting the 2 each time and hope send OT - Cal went for two.The missed. Final Score Oregon 59 Cal 41 – WIN A win by a half point is still a win. Nice
Utah (+1) over USC. This game featured one of the best endings of the season. In a back and forth game USC went up 21-17 early in the fourth quarter.
After trading punts Utah got the ball back at their 27 with 2:08 left. With 17 seconds left QB Travis Wilson scrambled to the end zone. Replay showed that he was just short. An incomplete pass on fist and goal set up this play

Final Utah 24 USC 21. WIN
And with that the Sheriff also got the UNDER (55.5) Utah/USC. as well WIN
This week the Sheriff is going to be a point whore with
Purdue (+23.5) over Nebraska. Purdue has looked impressive the last few weeks in beating Illinois on the road and almost beating Minnesota. I don’t expect them to win this game but I think they can cover this rather large number. Go Boilers!
Doofus: I like the pick but the Sheriff struggles when he strays from the PAC 12
Colorado (+4) over Washington. After losing nailbiters to Cal, Oregon State, and UCLA, the Buffs are poised to get their first conference win. They will be stomping and ready to go against a very beatable Husky team. Colorado’s last 3 games are against Arizona, Oregon, and Utah so if they are going to get a “W”, this is their best shot.
Arizona (+6.5) over UCLA. I was going to take UCLA in this game but when I saw the spread, I changed my mind. This is going to be a close game, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Wildcats got the win in the Rose Bowl.

The Doofus hopes to pull out of his nose dive with these picks
Week 10 Mega Bets
East Carolina -7.0 @ Temple – sticking with a good thing. For pickers against the Doofus that is. I’m going to take a favorite on the road. That has led to disaster so far this year. But this one seems too tempting
Last week East Carolina sleepwalked at home against a bad UConn team winning 31-21. Too bad the spread was 28.0.
The game started out all right as ECU was up 14-0 after their first two drives in the first quarter. But then they hit the snooze button, not scoring again until midway through the third quarter. UConn hung around with ECU needing a TD with 1:25 left to put the game away.
After a week of berating by the coaches, I don’t see the Pirates taking Temple for granted. For all the dozing that the Pirates did last week they still put up 580 yards of offense.
Temple meanwhile has been struggling offensively. After starting the season by putting up heady numbers on Vandy, UConn, Delaware State and Tulsa, the Owls have stalled. Back to back losses on the road to Houston and UCF have put a bowl game in jeopardy. Owl QB ankle is barking bad and the points have dwindled. They have only put up 24 points the last two weeks.
That won’t be enough to stay with East Carolina. The Pirates average just under 40 points per game and are 4th overall offensively. They’ll pound Temple to get some style points as they make a run for a former BCS bowl.

Duke +3.0 @ Pitt – Pitt is not as bad as they played last week. But they are still struggling and this is a bad match up for the Panthers.
The spread says that these teams are about equal on a neutral field. They are not.
Pitt relies on RB James Conner to make their offense go. Conner has 1,079 yards this year and is 5th in the nation with 14 TDs. He’ll get his yards, Duke is 101st in letting up rushing yards. But he’ll struggle to score. Duke is 4th in points allowed.
That means that Duke will be stacking the box to stop Conner since Pitt struggles to move through the air. They average a mere 177 yards per game, 109th overall.
Pitt is also a strong defensively ranking 17th in yards allowed. But due to problems hanging on to the ball they are 46th in points allowed. Duke won’t get 6 fumbles like GT did last week but they should be +1 in turnovers. The Blue Devils lead the ACC in turnover margin.
Couple of other angles I’m playing here. First Duke is 5-1 against the spread on the road while Pitt is 1-5 at home.
And perhaps more importantly this is a revenge game for Duke. They stumbled on their way to the ACC championship game with a 58-55 loss to Pitt. Duke is on their way to the championship game again but this time they won’t stumble.
Indianapolis -3.5 @ NY Giants – Playing the bounce back angle. Indianapolis ran into a Pittsburgh team that was playing out of its mind. Even still they were able to keep up.
With the Colts playing catch up they had to abandon the run last week. This week will be a different story as New York is 29th against the ground game. And that could be in further trouble with middle linebacker Jon Beason out for the season.
New York QB Eli Manning is coming off a bye after losing to Dallas the week before. Against Dallas he had a very good 116.7 rating and was not pressured. But Dallas has no defense, Indy does and should put pressure on Manning. Eli has also gone three game without a pick. He has nover gone four so he is due.
Luck is incredible coming off a loss going 10-1 against the spread. I’ll go with him rebounding from a bizzare loss.
I’ll go with a trifecta of revenge games in the college game. These three teams are looking for vengeance after losing last year:
Southern Call -7.0 @ Washington State
UL Lafayette -6.5 vs South Alabama
South Carolina -7.0 vs Tennessee
And I’ll go with two more games in the NFL
Baltimore -1.0 @ Pittsburgh - Teams coming off perfect games struggle the next week
New England +3.0 vs Denver - Brady 8-1 as home dog
And for all the games, spreads, times, networks and much much more – here is the Week 10 Bettors Guide
