GO DUCKS!!
The Doofus is well rested and raring to go. Just in time to hold another Whiskey Swilling Cigar Chomping Football Watching party on the Doofus deck this weekend.
And nothing gets the juices flowing quite as much as watching some Mega Bets go down in flames with your buddies sitting right next to you.
So, for the benefit of giving the gang something ridicule the Doofus about this weekend - while eating his food, drinking his booze and watching his TVs here are the Week 10 Mega bets:
Oregon -7.5 @ USC – Made a prop bet while on the GO JUMBO trip for the Ducks to go to the MNC. So the Ducks and I need this one to make our way to Miami. Oregon was favored by 3.5 before the season began - but with USC’s loss last week to Arizona bumped the spread to 5.5 to open the week. Duck backers like me quickly pushed it to 8.0 before settling back at 7.5. And because of USC’s loss last week, beating the Trojans might not be enough for the Ducks to leap frog Kansas State and Notre Dame in the BCS standings. They are going to need style points too. USC has been stumbling all year. Turnovers and penalties have plagued USC all season and cost them the game last week. Now they face an overlooked Oregon defense. The Quack attack gets all the attention in Eugene but the defense is pretty good too – ranked 24th in points allowed. Last year USC derailed Oregon’s march to the MNC. This year Oregon will get their revenge and pile on some style points too. I kinda like the under at 69.5 too.
Bama @ LSU Under 41.0 – Let’s see. In round one last year LSU won 9-6. In the rematch is was Bama 22-0. Tell me again why they are expected to score 41? This year, LSU is allowing an average 14.6 points. If you want to win a bar bet – who put up the most on LSU? Answer Towson with 22! Even Texas A&M was only able to put up 12. Coming off a bye and with Death Valey rocking it’s going to be difficult for Bama to put up a ton of points. Bama is ceding an amazingly low 8.1. points per game. The Crimson Tide just doesn’t let anyone score – let alone a struggling LSU offense. Round three is going to be another great and low scoring game.
Seattle – 4.0 vs Minnesota-. Minnesota QB Christian Ponder struggled last week going 19-35, 251 yards and 1 pick – and that was in a dome. Now he travels outdoors on a rainy, breezy cool day to take on the 5th best defense in the NFL (3rd in points allowed). Meanwhile, Seattle is going to amped up after blowing last week’s game in Detroit. The Seahawks are a much better team at home and should take down a fading Vikings team.
Going to go with a couple of Mini Mega Bets this week with
Penn State - 3.5 @ Purdue - Two teams headed in opposite directions
Tulsa +9.5 @ Arkansas - Hogs have already lost to the best team in the Sun Belt and Big East. Next up - best team in the CUSA
For the Point Whore Parlay I’ll take:
Ole Miss +14.0 @ Georgia
UL Lafayette +10.5 @ UL Monroe
Washington State +11.0 @ Utah
