The hurt has finally began to subside. Things will get a lot better after State takes down Maryland this week.
I was deating whether to take the week off and give my loyal readers a break from the semi weeklydrivel. But I just couldn't. Watching football with no rooting interest is just not as fun.
And it looks like I'll be aboe to watch plenty off football since I have gotten a conditional OK to go over to Mr and Mrs. H's football extravaganza!
So for this weeks Mega Bets I'm going to go with:
BYU -6.0 @ Missouri (Arrowhead Stadium) - Just how much turmoil can a team take. first Mizzou decided to not practice or play unless the Universtiy President resigned. He did. Then, on Friday, HC Gary Pinkel announced he was stepping down at the end of the seasonfor health reasons. He is battling lymphoma.
Good teams would struggle to handle all this. Mizzou is not a good team. The Tiger offense is beyond awful. Last week they lost to Mississippi State 31-13. It was the first time in three weeks they scored a TD. They just can't move the chaoins. They are 126th in 3rd down conversions.
BYU is no juggernaut but at least they know how to find the endzone. They averaged 35 poinmts per game against their last 3 FBS teams - all fron the America conference.
Mizzou may very weel come out fired up but after several punts will wilt.
Middle Tennessee State -5.5 @ Florida Atlantic -
MTSU may be a little unfocused after last week's huge win over Marshall. But they way too much firepower for a middling Owl defense.
And Florida Atlantic's offense won't be able to bail them out. It has only scored 20 points twice this year.
The defense's are about equal allowing 30 points per ganme but MTSU scores 11 more points per game. Good enough for me

Minnesota +11.5 @ Iowa - Floyd of Rosedale (it's a pig trophy) is on the line. Minnesota has taken it up several notches since the sudden retirement of former HC Jerry Kill. as a result, Interim head coach Tracy Claeys had the interim removed when he signed a three year contract.
Gopher QB Mitch Leidner has shown the most improvement during that span throwing for over 1,000 over the last three games.
Iowa's defense has been outstanding but is started to show some cracks against Maryland and Indiana.
It's a rivalrygame. I'll take the points and a surging Minnesota
Got a bunch of Mini Megas this week starting with:
Ohio State -16.5 @ Illinois - JT Barrett learned his lesson after just one week. The Buckeye offense is much better with him under center.
Oklahoma +2.5 Baylor - Without QB Seth Russell, Baylor's offense won't be able to keep up with the high powered Sooner offense.
Georgia Southern -6.5 @ Troy - A high scoring game. The Eagles will pull away at the end.
Marshall -12.0 vs Florida International - The Herd bounces back from a tough loss last week to MTSU. The home crowd will be rocking
For this weeks Point Whore Parlay I'm going with:
SMU +20.0 @ Navy
New Mexico +30.0 @ Boise State
Oregon State +21.0 @ Cal
The Sheriff is going with
Washington State (+10) over UCLA. The Sheriff has bet on the Cougs 3 times this year and they have come through for him each time. An autographed copy of Mike Leach’s book (“A Pirate’s Life For Me”) is on its way via Amazon. Suffice to say, he is all aboard the Wazzu bandwagon this year and he ain’t getting off now.
Cal (-21) over Oregon State. No team with a defense as porous as Cal’s should be favored by 21 points over anybody, but OSU is the worst team in the PAC-12. Cal will win this game and become bowl eligible for the first time in the Jarod Goff era. Cactus Bowl here we come !!
Stanford (-10) over Oregon. The Cardinal has owned the Ducks the last few years and Stanford should be able run Christian McCaffrey down Oregon’s throat all game long. Cardinal wins big.
Here are all the game, times, spreads, picks and much much more
