The fun continues through the rest of the Labor Day weekend with plenty of great games.
Ohio State -17.0 vs Notre Dame – Both teams are coming off disappointing seasons on the outside looking in at the CFP. This year, the BuckNuts are considered a lock to get in while the Domers are 10-1 to make the CFP.
A win in the Shoe, however, would give ND an inside track to the playoffs. With Brian Kelly scooting his way down to Baton Rouge, ND handed the keys to their DC March=us Freeman, an Buk Nut alum who has a bevy of NFL talent on his defense.
Ohio States defense was blamed for last years disappointing season. It will be fine. They brought over Oklahoma States DC Jim Knowles to tighten things up.
It’s the offense that is expected to carry the day for OSU with not one but three Heisman candidates, QB CJ Stroud, the leader out of the gate, RB TreVeon Henderson and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
17 points is a ton of points to spot the Domers so I’ll pick ND. Not quatloos though. I don’t want to have to root for the Irish. I will put a quatloo on the BuckNuts to win the CFP at +300 though.

. on +17.0 @ Georgia – The Ducks travel across the country to face the defending champs in their own backyard. Sounds daunting until you remember that last year the Ducks went into the Shoe as heavy underdogs and came out with a 35-28 win over Ohio State.
Oregon likely has the best OL that Georgia will face all year with four projected NFL picks. And if there is one coach that knows how to attack the Georgia defense it’s HC Dan Lanning. He was the DC for Georgia the last three years.
For Georgia, it’s a reload year. 15 players from last year banner squad got drafted. There’s probably a similar number putting on the pads on this year’s team. Georgia watched Utah beat Oregon twice last year by pounding away. The Dawgs have better talent than Utah. And Duck fans, do you really believe that QB Bo Nix is your savior? Me neither.
Since I’ll be watching the game at the Sax Man’s crib I’ll take the points and root against UGA. The Saxy Lady is out of the country so we can revert to form regarding UGA. No quatloos though.

Utah -3.0 @ Florida - Utah started 1-2 last year, but changing to QB Cameron Rising jumpstarted the Utes to a Pac-12 title and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Now they have their sights on something even bigger, a trip to the playoffs. There’s enough talent with 13 starters back and Rising considered one of the nations top signal callers.
Florida looks to hot the reset button under new HC Billy Napier. He has his work cut out for him as the roster is a bit depleted. Former HC Dan Mullen never quite put enough effort into recruiting. The cupboard isn’t completely bare. Gator QB Anthony Richardson has the potential to be special.
Napier will turn the Gator program around but this is too much of a test out the chute. I’ll lay the short points as Utah grinds away to a victory. Put me down for a Mega.

Arkansas -6.5 vs Cincinnati – It was a magical year for the Bearcats last year a trip to the playoffs – the first Group of 5 team to make the CFP. This year QB Desmond Ridder is in Atlanta and star CB Sauce Gardner is with the Jets. There is some returning talent though. The OL returns all its starters from last year. But QB and RB are question marks.
Arkansas reflects it’s HC Sam Pittman. He’s an OL coach by trade and his teams love to pound the ball. They bring back 4 offensive linemen and their top 3 RBs from the team that led the SEC in rushing last year.
It won’t get the same attention as UGA Oregon playing at the same rime but this could be a sneaky good game. Both teams will pound away hoping to win late.
Until Cincinnati can prove they can reload and not rebuild I’ll take Arkansas at home and lay the points. No quatloos though.

LSU -3.0 vs Florida State – The Noles are in the midst of four straight losing seasons. Something that hasn’t happened since the GO Jumbo gang was pounding beers in the dorm. It’s the third year for HC Mike Norvell and if he fails to make it to a bowl game there will likely be no year four.
The Noles aim to run the ball this season with their best backfield tandem in years. This is also FSU’s best offensive line since their glory days a veteran group that aims to keep QB Jordan Travis upright and have to scramble at every turn.
LSU will be led by new HC Brian “the Drawl” Kelly. Kelly is going to rotate his two QBs. Arizona State Jayden Daniels gives the Tigers more options with his ability to run the ball while returning sophomore Garrett Nussmeier is more of a prototypical pocket passer. Whomever has the hot hand will take over in the second half. Kelly has been retooling the secondary bringing in 5 portal transfers.
Overall, there’s more talent on the LSU sidelines and they are playing what is a home game in the Superdome. I’ll lay the points for a mini mega.

Here's a couple of other wagers I'll be making:
Kentucky -16.5 vs Miami (OH) - a middling MAC school against a rising SEC team. I'll lay the points. for a Mini Mega
Mississippi State - 16.0 vs Memphis - A revenge game for MSU after losing to Memphis 31-28 last year. Q quatloo on the Bulldogs
And for all the games, lines picks and much much more he is the 2022 Week 1 Bettors Guide
