The Mrs and I are up in the mountains with Mr and Mrs Bruce and Mr and Mrs H for Oktoberfest. The good times have already started but more on that with the next update.
First, we are taking a break from polkas and brats to watch some football.
This week I'm going with
Navy +3.5 vs Memphis - This is going to be a fun game. Memphis' Riley Ferguson to Anthony Miller is the real deal. Miller is small but he is going to be playing on Sundays soon.
What Memphis doesn't have is a run defense. That plays right into the Middies hands
Navy wins outright. The Sax Man likes this pick too.
San Diego State -7.0 vs Boise State - This just isn't your fathers Boise State team. They aren't awful but they don't do anything quite well either. The offense is mediocre and the defense has no identity.
Rashad Penny is destroying everything in his path. Add the Broncos to the list.

Tampa Bay -1.5 vs Arizona - The Cardinals are a train wreck this year, Vegas just hasn't realized it yet. It starts with a defense that is floundering.
Doug Martin was back from suspension last week and was a man on a mission. The mission will continue this week as Arizona continues to fall to the cellar.
And maybe it's the spaetzle and Spatenbrau talking but I'll go with several Mini Megas this week
Detroit +4.0 @ New Orleans - Stafford may be ailing but he finds a way to make games close. Back door cover in the Quarter
Georgia Tech +6.0 vs Miami (FL) - The Wreck's defense will win the game outright versus an ailing Cane offense
UL Monroe -7.0 vs Georgia State - Ga State is on a two game winning streak. It ends at 2.
This week's Point Whore Parlay is
Boston College +21.5 @ Louisville
Purdue +17.5 @ Wisconsin
Utah +12.5 @ USC
The Sheriff sent in his picks
Congrats on beating scUM. I know you must have been happy on Saturday night. The Doofus - happy was an undestatement.
Arizona vs UCLA (OVER 79.5). Don’t know who is going to win this game, but the Sheriff does know that when two terrible defenses get together, there will be points. Arizona backup QB Khalil Tate ran for 317 yards against Colorado, and there is no reason to believe he won’t have similar success against the Bruins’ awful run defense. Josh Rosen should put up his usual big numbers as well.
Texas (+7.5) vs Oklahoma. Since punching the Condoms in the mouth 3 weeks ago in a double OT loss, Texas has won back-to-back games against Iowa State and Kansas State. Texas freshman QB Sam Ehlinger is a tough SOB, and the team is coming together under Tom Herman. (7.5) is lot of points in a rivalry game so the Sheriff will take the Longhorns to cover and possibly even upset the Sooners.
Stanford (-10.5) vs Oregon. The Cardinal has 3 straight conference wins after losing to USC and San Diego State. David Shaw has got Stanford’s season turned around, whereas Oregon will be struggling with injuries and a true freshman QB (Braxton Burmeister) making his first start on the road. Stanford wins easily.

The Saxman is looking to make up for all of his horrible parlays so far this week.
There's a few enticing money lines that could potentially lead to a decent payout in a 3 team parlay.
The Saxman's (hopefully not final) parlay of the week is:
Green Bay (-155) over Minnesota
Washington (-475) over San Francisco
Detroit (+180) over New Orleans
This parlay is +457 if all three win.
I know never to trust the Lions, but I think New Orleans is getting a little too much love right now.
My other two picks:
TCU (-6) over K State - I was a little hesitant on this one, just because the line seems a little fishy and Old Man Snyder loves to win these kinds of games. A noon kickoff helps the horned frogs escape the Little Apple with a TD win.
Navy (+3.5) over Memphis - Middies are 5-0 and heading to a Memphis team who lost by 27 to the last good team they played. The Tigers have only played USNA twice, losing by twenty each of the last two years. Navy wins straight up, but take the points just in case.
And for all the games, spreads, picks and much much more here is the Week 7 Bettors Guide
