Only two more tune up weeks left before it's show time!
The Big Book of Guesses has been on fire. The Doofus, has done pretty good too going 8-4 over the last month.
Let's see if we can keep it going for another few weeks.

I'm struggling to find good Mega Bet college games. The only one I can find is:
Southern Miss -15.0 @ UNC Charlotte - UNC Charlotte's first year in Div 1A has been rocky to say the least. They beat Georgia State (who doesn't) but since then they have lost all their Div 1A games. They even lost to fellow bottom feeder Old Dominion
Southern Miss, conversely, is having a relatively great year after a disastrous last couple of years. They are 4-3 with respectable losses to Mississippi State, Marshall and a close one to Nebraska.
The reason for the turnaround for the Golden Eagle is the offense has improved immensely. In the four wins they have averaged 47 points. They will have little problem running up the score against a 49er defense that let up an average 37 points over their last two games.
The trends favor Southern Miss - they are 6-1 ATS. UCCC is 1-3 ATS

Without much to choose from in the college ranks, the Doofus is forced to pick some NFL games starting with:
Atlanta -6.0 @ Tennessee - I like taking good teams coming off a loss. The Falcons lost their first game of the season last Thursday. They were moving the ball but three fumbles and a blocked punt for a TD killed them. That and Drew Brees had his best game of the season.
The Falcons should erupt again on offense. Devonta Freeman huge been a huge surprise for Atlanta averaging 4.8 yards per carry - 6th in the league. Freeman should find plenty of running room against a Titan rush defense that ranks 23rd overall.
That will open up the passing lanes for Matty Ice to Julio. Ryan is 3rd overall in passing this year.
Conversely, Tennessee will be unable to get the ground game going. Under new head coach Dan Quinn, the Falcons have become stout against the run.
With Marcus Mariotta doubtful for Sunday's game (which moved the spread 2 points), it means that 2nd year QB Zach Mettenberger will try to win through the air. Not a good situation for Titan fans. Mettenberger is 0-6 straight up and 1-5 ATS in his six starts last year.
The trends favor Atlanta. Tennessee is 3-13-1 ATS at home.
It was a goofy loss for the Falcons. One they have had 9 days to stew over. Tennessee will pay the price.

Indianapolis -4.5 vs New Orleans - Conversely, I like picking against bad teams coming off a win. New Orleans is a bad team and used up a lot of luck to beat the Falcons. They are unlikely to repeat that performance.
Indianapolis is coming off a tough loss to New England last week but should find easy pickings against an awful Saints defense. New Orleans is 31st against the pass and 29th against the run. Luck and Frank Gore are going to run up and down the field.
Meanwhile, Brees is fading fast into the sunset. His favorite weapon is now playing in Seattle and he is just plain getting old. He's good for a game here or there (like against a rival Atlanta) but overall he is mediocre. Indy will stop the run and make Brees beat them. He won't
The trends favor the Colts. the are covering machines going 29-17-2 ATS. New Orleans is 2-5-1 as a visiting dog.

I'll go back to the College games for the Mini Megas with
Ohio State - 21.5 @ Rutgers - Suburban Meyer finally figured out that JT Barrett is a better QB than Cardale Jones. I wonder if I can get my $10 back from Chris. The Bucknuts will roll a Rutgers team that is either without or has a hobbled Leonte Caroo
Houston - 21.5 @ UCF - Temple couldn't get the cover against the Knights last week. Maybe Houston can. Temple's offense is struggling but Houston's is on fire. The Cougars will go for style points against a reeling UCF team.
Clemson -6.5 @ Miami (FL) - Two of the best sophomore QBs go at it. Clemson's stellar defense will shut down the Canes.
Bowling Green -14.5 @ Kent State - Kent State is an average or worse MAC team. Bowling Green will shred them.

I'm going to pass on a point whore parlay this week
But I will try another Over/Under Parlay with
Wisconsin @ Illinois under 46.0 - Bucky will strangle the Illini but struggles to move the ball
North Texas @ Marshall over 56.0 - Marshall will get the 56 by themselves
Texas Tech @ Oklahoma over 74.0 - It's the Big 12. There will be plenty of points

After five straight weeks of going 1-2, the Sheriff finally got a different result.
He went 0-3.
So this week he's going to try to get his mojo back by going with some Road Dogs:
Utah (+3.5) over USC. The #3 ranked team in the country is an underdog to an unranked USC team? Thank you Vegas but no points are necessary -- the Utes will win this game outright.
Doofus: This is the weirdest spread of the year so far. I'm going with Utah but no quatloos. Vegas may be up to something fishy.
Cal (+3.5) over UCLA. After watching Cal fight Utah to a 30-24 loss despite 5 turnovers, I’m starting to think the Golden Bears are for real. UCLA, on the other hand, has too many injuries and seems to be losing control of its season. This is a pivotal game for both teams.
Doofus: UCLA treated it like a pivotal game. Cal didn't. I missed this one too as UCLA rolled. 40-24
Washington State (+7) over Arizona. The Dread Pirate Mike Leach has got the Cougs rolling with two straight wins over Oregon and Oregon State. Arizona had to struggle to beat Colorado last week. It’s tough to win in the Desert but I think Wazzu can cover this number.
