Before I get into the picks for this week, I wanted to share some great posts. There are a ton of fan bases in total melt down over last Saturday’s games. Fans took to posting and a writer rated the meltdowns and sharing some of the posts.
Here are some classics
I’d hate to be a cheerleader and have to smile through this shit – Auburn fan while getting killed by LSU
I should be used to this by now. I should stop torturing myself but each year I come right back like a dog to its own vomit. – Arkansas fan after losing to Texas Tech
We suck unwiped ass. – Gamecock fan after the beat down by Georgia
Watching this offense is like being operated on by a blindfolded Michael J. Fox with no anesthesia. – Missouri fan after nearly losing to UConn
And my favorite
That's it
I just attached a boat propeller to a power drill, shoved it up my ass, and set it to turbo. Because I wanted to experience less pain than this game. – Bama fan after losing to Ole Miss again this year.
My picks have been n melt down too but I hope I don't start posting comments like that.
Then again if I don't start winning on the Mega Bets soon......
So here is this weeks picks. Time to get things turned around
I'll start with:
Western Michigan +31.0 vs Ohio State – Let’s see if I got this straight. The Bucknuts struggled against a MAC contender in Northern Illinois – winning by a TD. Now another MAC contender, arguably a better Western team comes into the Shoe and you get 31 points? I’ll take that.
For all the hype about three potential Heisman QBs none are doing well. Granted Braxton Miller moved to WR but Cardale Jones and JT Barnett are struggling. Suburban Meyer is undecided as who to start and not because both are killing it on the field. This week he is sticking with Jones even though he has more INTs (3) then TDs (2).
Maybe, just maybe, OSU misses former OC Tom Herman just a wee bit. He had a knack for exploiting mismatches at just the right time. Now he is working his magic down in Houston.
Western played tough against Michigan State in a 13 point loss. The passing game gave the Spartans all they could handle. OSU’s defense is not all that much better.
Western has been good to its backers. They are 12-4 ATS and 5-1 as a road dog.

wling Green -2.5 @ Purdue – Chris’ real alma mater is going to desperation mode. In a move to save his career in West Lafayette, HC Darell Hazell is switching QBs.
It’s becoming an annual event for Hazell. In, 2013, Hazell's first season, he replaced Rob Henry with Danny Etling after five games. Last year, Etling was pulled in favor of Appleby at the same point in the season. Now, only three games into the 2015 campaign, he’s replacing Appelby with redshirt freshman David Blough. Panic time in West Lafayette?
Bowling Green does not have a QB problem. Matt Johnson leads Div 1A in passing yards and passing TDs. The Falcons have already beaten a Big Ten team this year (Maryland) and beat Indiana last year so they won’t be intimidated by the floundering Boilers. Purdue, meanwhile, has trouble with MAC schools going 4-4 since 2009.
BGSU can be profitable on the road going 11-7-1 ATS

Indiana -3.5 @ Wake Forest – OK enough pounding in the Big Ten. This time I’ll take a Big Ten team to cover. The Hoosiers are 3-0 and looking to go 4-0 for the first time since 1990. Much of the credit goes to UAB transfer RB Jordan Howard. Howard leads the Div 1A in rushing with 503 yards so far this season.
Up next is the inept Wake Forest. WtF is coming off a win over an equally pitiful Army. A game the Deacons struggled to win 17-13. Granted, the Deacs defensive statistics look good but the haven’t played any offenses with a pulse.
Indiana averages 37 points per game while Wake can only muster 17. And now Wake’s QB John Wolford is hobbled with an ankle injury.
The Hoosiers have are 1-12 in road games but what a win it was last year. They beat SEC East champ Missouri. Number 2 against the Dreaming Deacons will be a lot easier.
I'm going against the trends here. Indiana is 3-9 away from Bloomington. Wake is 5-1 as a road dog.

I'm going to go with a couple Mini Megas this week with:
Georgia Southern -16.0 @ Idaho - Georgia Southern runs the triple option to perfection and will be far too much for a perennial inept Idaho. The Vandals are 5-12 ATS in the Kibbie Dome.
St Louis +1.0 vs Pittsburgh - St Louis comes home after losing on at Washington. The will rebound against a faltering Pittsburgh defense. LeVeon Bell is scheduled to come back for the Steelers but he will struggle a bit against the Rams good defemse. The Steelers usually falter as road favorites going 15-26 ATS
For the Point Whore Parlay I’ll take:
Hawaii +24.5 @ Wisconsin – The Rainbow Warriors have just enough defense to keep Wisconsin from finally finding that running game.
Rice +34.5 @ Baylor – Baylor let up 31 points to Lamar last week and 21 to SMU in week 1. Rice should score enough points to keep it within 5 TDs.
Southern Miss +22.0 @ Nebraska – Where is Nebraska’s head going to be in this game? In week 2 they lost to BYU on a Hail Mormon and then last week rallied from 23 down only to lose in OT to Miami (FL). Southern Miss is one of the more improved teams this year. They will keep it close to a Nebraska team trying to find an identity.

The Sheriff weighed in with these picks:
I picked 3 winners last week but unfortunately only 1 of the 3 covered (I knew those lines for UCLA and CAL were too big). Hopefully I will have better luck this week with these more manageable numbers.
BYU (+5.5) over Michigan. I am more and more impressed with BYU every time I see them. They have a tough, physical football team and Tanner Mangum is a great college QB. I expect them not only to cover but to go into the Big House and beat Mr. Khaki Pants.
Arizona State (+5.5) over USC. ASU hasn’t looked very impressive this year, but the Condoms were exposed last week as the soft, gutless wonders they really are. Sark better be careful and avoid the Lane Kiffin Memorial Conference Room at LAX (the place where Pat Haden fired Kiffin at 2:00AM the last time USC came back from Tempe) because he’s heading for the same fate as his old buddy Lane.
Doofus: as Hatin Ass Spurrier said “I call USC toddlers because they only know two songs, go crazy over a horse, and shit the bed consistently”
UCLA (-3.5) over Arizona. This is the game of the week in the PAC-12 and possibly the toughest test in the PAC-12 South UCLA may face all year. Rosen finally looked like the 18-year old freshman he is by throwing 3 picks in the first half against BYU, but he managed to overcome that by managing the game effectively in the second half (mainly by handing the ball to Paul Perkins who rushed for 219 yards but he also threw a touchdown pass in the 3rd quarter and didn’t turn the ball over). Rosen needed a game like this to find out what he’s made of and I think he (and UCLA) will be better off in the long run for it.
