There’s a pause in the action as teams take on Twinkie Teams before Rivalry week, next weekend. The SEC is the biggest consumer of those yellow, edible, no expiration date, delicacies.
There is one game featuring ranked opponents
Ohio State -18.5 vs Penn State – Earlier this year, this was shaping up to be a titanic matchup. But lately? Not so much.
The PSU defense is trending in the wrong direction. They’ve allowed 400+ yards in 3 of their last 4 contests. The PSU rush defense continues to look strong, allowing only 78 YPG in conference games, #1 in the Big Ten. But, the PSU secondary is getting shredded allowing 371, 339, and 276 yards passing in those 3 of their last four games.
It’s showing up on the scoreboard, after allowing only 47 points through their first 5 Big 10 games, they have let up 58 combined points the last 2 weeks.
Is OSU Slipping too? For only the second time this season they didn’t cover last week versus Rutgers. The Buckeyes won by 35 but needed to cover 53. Not only that but the miserable Scarlet Knights scored three TDs, the first team to do so against OSU this year.
Maybe, but the Buckeyes have still won every game this season by at least 24 points and they’ve outgained every opponent by at least 235 yards. They are simply blowing everyone out.
OSU is clearly superior to PSU, The Bucknuts are #1 in both scoring offense and scoring defense. And I’ll guess that Chase Young will come back a little surly after his one game suspension.
I’ll take OSU for a Min Mega but no more. These two traditionally play competitive games. The Buckeyes beat the Nittany Lions by one point in each of the past two seasons, and Penn State won by three back in 2016.

I’m going to go with just one Mega Bet this week:
Baylor -6.0 vs Texas – It was there for the taking, a 10-0 record, grab the inside track for a CFP spot, put Baylor back on the national radar. The Bears were leading 31-10 at the half over Oklahoma and then, utter melt down. The Sooners rallied for a 34-31 win.
They still have a shot at the Big 12 championship. Win out and they will get another shot at the Sooners.
Texas is a one trick pony. They can throw all day long but not much running game and a defense last seen on a milk carton. Baylor can throw too and plays some pretty good defense.
It’s a classic rebound game and revenge game. Texas downed Baylor 23-17 last year. As long as Oklahoma doesn’t beat Baylor twice this should be a comfortable win for the Bears.

I’ll make some trend bets this week:
Oregon -14.5 @ Arizona State – Ducks have covered six in a row. quatloo
Indiana +10.0 vs scUM – Hell yeah! Hoosiers have covered six of seven, Look ahead game for scUM too. quatloo
Illinois @ Iowa under 46.5 – Iowa is on a 7-1-1 under streak. Mini Mega
UAB -6.5 vs La Tech – UAB is 7-3 ATS. Blazers have won 17 straight games at home. A win here would make it 3 straight seasons without a home loss - quatloo
Hawaii vs San Diego State over 47.5 – Rainbows on a five game over streak. Mini Mega
Utah -23.0 @ Arizona – Utes on six game cover streak - quatloo
Kansas State @ Texas Tech under 56.5 – Wildcats on a 6-1 under streak - quatloo
Only one metric game this week with Navy -3.5 vs SMU. I’ll put a quatloo on the Middies but no more. They maybe shell shocked after getting shellacked by the Domers last weekend. I’ll take the over 66.5 for a quatloo. The Stangs are on a 9-0-1 over streak.

The Sheriff hopes to continue his winning ways with:
UCLA (+13.5) @ USC – The Condoms probably win but the Baby Bruins will keep it respectable.
Cal (+2.5) @ Stanford - It’s been 9 long years but the Axe finally returns to Berkeley where it belongs!
San Jose State (+7) @ UNLV - The west coast Spartans have been very good to the Sheriff this year, so he is going to the well one more time.
And for all the games, times, spreads and much much more here is the 2019 Week 13 Bettors Guide
