There was another head coaching change yesterday. But this one was unexpected. Minnesota HC Jerry Kill stepped down for health reasons. He suffers from epilepsy which caused multiple seizures over the last few years. He decided to retire after having two more seizures Tuesday after practice.
Here's the opening remarks. It's gut wrenching. The man really loves the game, his team, his coaches and his school.

t's a shame. Kill was a great coach. He played the game right. His teams were tough and disciplined. Minnesota and college football lost a good one.
Before we get into this tonight's picks - an update on the Georgia Tech miracle blocked FG return for a TD on Saturday. Turns out that the hero of the play, Lance Austin, as he crossed the goal line, was joined by a blocker - his twin brother Lawrence.
They crossed the goal line together. The brothers had been playing in memory of their grandmother Louise, who died due to cancer. Nice story.
Hatin Ass Spurrier weighed in on the game saying "Don't feel bad, Jimbo. Lincoln wasn't prepared for the last play, either"
Detroit fans are circulating a petition to revoke the Lions passports. That way they won't be able to return from this Sunday's game in London. Where do I sign?
Lots of great games tonight - and next week at this time, Mike, Woz and I will be in the Super Book!
So I going to get some practice and issue a special Thursday Night edition starting with games that I'll put a standard 1 quatloo bet on:

Pitt +3.0 vs North Carolina - Ellis has been pleasantly surprised by the Heels this year. After screwing the pooch against South Carolina in the opener they have gone on a 6 game winning streak. The offense has always been good but the defense under DC Gene Chzik has made remarkable progress.
But it's not nearly as good as what Pat Narduzzi has put in in Pitt. And the best offensive player on the turf is not a Heel but Pitt's NFL ready WR Tyler Boyd. I'll piss Ellis off and take the home dog and my home boy Narduzzi.
TCU @ West Virginia over 76.5 - Both these teams can score. Neither can play defense. It's the Big 12. get out you popcorn and "watch the points keep growing". If you like lots of scoring you're going to love this game.

Buffalo -7.0 vs Miami (OH) - Miami (OH) has yet to beat a Div 1A team and are getting destroyed in the process. Buffalo has been OK but showed some offensive chops last week in blowing out a pretty good Ohio team.
I like betting against bad teams on the road so I'll lay the TD and take the Bulls
I'll pass on the other MAC game tonight Western -20.5 @ Eastern Michigan. But I will be watching to see if there are any betting angles for next week.
I will put down some Mini Mega Bets tonight:

Oregon +3.0 @ Arizona State - The Ducks got QB Vernon Adams back a couple of weeks ago. They are a much better team with him under center.
While the Duck secondary is pretty bad (last in the PAC 12) I'm not sure the Wildcats can exploit it. Their offensive line is a mess allowing 21 sacks so far this year. And now they just lost their starting TE Dan Vear.
Oregon is 3-0 ATS on the road while ASU is 1-3 ATS at home. I'll take the improving Ducks.
Georgia Southern -20.5 vs Texas State - Georgia Southern got embarrassed on national TV last week in a key game to decide the Fun Belt championship. They will return home and take out their frustrations on a mediocre Texas State.
The Bobcats don't have near enough defense to keep up with a pissed off Eagle offense.
I'll lay the 3 TDs at home in front of a (small) national TV audience.

Miami +7.5 @ New England - This is the real test to see if interim head coach Dan Campbell has really turned around the Fins. Since he replaced the overwhelmed Joe Philbin, Maimi has won two straight. They are playing like the team that was going to be a dark horse in the AFC race.
The defense is better and the pass rush should harass Tom Brady and his suspect offensive line. The way to beat Brady, even back when they were 18-0 is to put him under constant pressure. Miami can do that.
Meanwhile, Miami's offensive line is now back to being healthy which will help in holding off the Patriot's pretty good rush.
This game should be low scoring so I'll take the TD and the hook.
