Tyler O'Conner's throws were all over the place Well that just sucked.
Just about everything that could go wrong this weekend - did.
Starting with the Spartans. No way to sugar coat it - that was awful. And it came down to turnovers.
State coughed it up four times, which along with a muffed punt, led to Wisconsin scoring drives of 28 yards, 5 yards, a scoop six and a drive which failed at the Wisconsin 20.
Give credit where credit is due. Bucky outplayed us.
And now State has a brewing QB controversy. O’Conner, who was able to win at Notre Dame and Ohio State was pretty bad in his home opener. Dantonio tried to squash the rumors but left the door open when he said “At this point in time there is no quarterback controversy. Now there may become one at some point. It’s about production.” No better beat down than one that starts the rumblings to change the QB.
Kudos to Johnny E for not sending over gloating emails.

The Doofus was even worse racking up an 0 fer. As in 0 fer 3 on the Mega Bets and 0 fer 2 on the Mini Megas.

The Kent State @ Bama game epitomized my luck for the week. I pointed out an interesting double bet in that the Flashers were getting 44 yet the over under was 50. The only way that you could lose both is if the score was something like 48-0.
Final score? Bama 48 Kent State 0.
And to make it worse, I pointed out that if Kent State got a TD late at least one bet was automatic.
What happens? Kent State late in the game, playing against guys just ahead of the marching band on the depth chart gets it down the Bama 7 – 4th and goal. QB George Bollas scrambles to the goal line and TD!! I get both bets.
They go to the booth and it’s overturned. FML. The replay looked like he was in or inconclusive at best. Didn’t matter. It was that kind of weekend.
Cry me a river texted Bruce when I told him about the game. No sympathy there. I need to get better friends.

Okie State kept coming up just short East Carolina +12.0 @ Va Tech – OK, I can’t blame turnovers or refs or luck on this one. It was just a bad pick.
played the trends too much and overlooked the motivation. Va Tech wanted to avenge 2 straight losses to the Pirates and came out and just plain smoked ‘em. The Hokies scored on all four possessions in the second quarter to take a 38-0 lead. Final score Va Tech 54 ECU 17 LOSS
Oklahoma State +8.0 @ Baylor – This one was real frustrating. OSU was down four points 28-24, getting 8 and driving. With 13 minutes left they were at the Baylor 14, 1st and 10. Get a TD here and Baylor would need 2 TDs to cover.
The Pokes get to the Baylor 4, 4th and 2. They go for it and…… come up short. Turnover on downs
Okie State gets the ball back again. They drive to the Baylor 14. RB Justice Hill sprints up the middle to the house. TD!! I’m up two scores!
The refs review the play and determine that he fumbled just before he crossed the goal line. Baylor gets the ball at the ½ yard line.
Of course, Baylor goes 99 yards to go up 36-24.
The Pokes get the ball back again, a chance to get a back door cover, get to midfield and – pick.
They get the ball back one more time with 2 minutes left. Get a TD and get the cover Cowboys!

Now as bad of luck as I had it pales in comparison to Le Miles. Here’s what happened at the end of the LSU Auburn game.
Les was fired by LSU the next day. I thought the loser of this game would get canned after losing to Saban later on but LSU couldn’t wait.
And he wasn’t the only one fired. Ron Turner down at Florida International was canned too. I questioned his hiring from day one. Guy can’t win and didn’t.
So, four weeks into the season a first team Heat Seat coach (Miles) and a second teamer (Turner) have already been fired.

He was on the vanguard of bring golf to the masses. And it greatest ambassador, always willing to sign an autograph and always making sure it was legible.
He was not only a great golfer but an amazing marketing genius. He had lines of clothing and even a line of beverages. How many people have a drink named after them?
And he gave back to the community too, establishing a world class childrens hospital in Orlando.
