The Falcon OL was putrid
The Big Book of Guesses’ 2012 NFL season went out with a thump. Over the last 5 weeks the BBofG went 30-49-1. I haven’t stumbled so bad since the time BK and I decided to make our own Kahlua. Good stuff!
For the year the BBofG went 121-128-7 on the NFL. The Doofus went 13-9 (59%) but also tripped out of the doorway on the season with
Week 18 Part 4 Recap:
Atlanta -3.0 vs Tampa Bay - Matt Ryan must have thought it was a playoff game – he was terrible. He went 28 for 44. The offensive line was about as stout as a revolving door leaving Ryan under pressure all day. Give credit to rookie HC Schianno - Tampa Bay came to play in a meaningless game. His defense kept the Falcons offense grounded as they built a 16-3 lead early in the 3rd quarter. Atlanta rallied to cut the lead to 22-16 but in a key series – Atlanta got the ball on their own 19, drove to their 33 and turned it over on downs. The Bucs pounded it down to the 6 and ground out the rest of the clock. Final score Tama Bay 22-16 LOSS
Bowl Season starts with the warm ups to the big acts today. The Doofus will try to get back on a winning track with:

More nice blocking by the OL
Week 18 Part 5
Vanderbilt -6.0 vs NC State – NC State is all about QB Mike Gleason. The Pack was 20th in passing offense but 117th in running this year. Vandy will be countering with the 10th best pass defense and led the SEC in tackles for loss. After sacking former HC Tom O’Brien, NC State will use OC Dana Bible to lead the way.
With no running game to worry about Vndy is going to pin their ears back and get after get after Gleason. The Dores have just enough of a balanced offense to get the job done. The home crowd (game is played in Nashville) will start the New Years eve festivities off early.
Tulsa +1.0 vs Iowa State – Going with the revenge angle here. Tulsa and Iowa State end the season the same way the started. These teams met in the season opener with the Cyclones prevailing 38-23. Since then they have gone down different paths. ISU started out 3-0 with qulaity wins over Tulsa and Iowa but then fizzled finishing the season 3-6. Tulsa menwhile bounced back nicely reeling off 7 wins in a row and the CUSA champiosnhip. I like taking conference champs over middle of the pack big time conference players. The chams know how to win.
Iowa State was unable to hold its last 9 opponents under 21 points. Tulsa changed offensive strategies this year. In prior years they were all about the pass but this year they ended up 11th in the nation rushing. Tulsa will get their revenge in a close game.

D'oh the Doofus is thumping his head over the NFL picks lately
Going with a couple of Mini Megas too
LSU -6.0 vs Clemson – Clemson kicked off their season in the Georgia Dome in the Chik-fil-A kickoff classic. In an exciting game they took down Auburn 26-19. It seemed like a big victory at the time but Auburn turned out to be terrible (sorry Big Guy). Now they return for the Chik-fil-A bowl. Clemson has feasted on the sister of the poor but struggled with quality team as evidenced by losses to Florida State and South Carolina. LSU most resembles the Gamecocks with a stout defense and OK offense. Clemson got pummeled by their arch rivals 27-17. Should be a similar score here.
Georgia Tech vs USC under 62.0 - Going with the motivation angle on this one. The Jackets are feeling dissed. The Sax Man reported that USC showed up and hour and half late for a joint team dinner claiming an unscheduled “late practice”. More like they treating GT as more of an annoyance rather than an opponent.
Trojan QB Matt Barkley is out for the game and star WR Marqise Lee tweaked hi s knee in practice on Saturday. USC will be starting a redshirt freshman at QB. The Jackets will be giving time to theirs too. Backup QB Vad “The Impaler” Lee is expected to get a ton of quality snaps bringing a smile to Bruce’s face. The Jacket offense seems to run better with Lee behind center.
It’s USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffins last game. Daddy Kiffin will have his defense amped up and make just enough stops to get the under.
