Another great time at Coastal Command. I was late arriving. I tell ya, this whole work thing is way over rated. The gang is either retired or getting ready to pull away from the semi-voluntary indentured servitude while I’m still trying to make tight connections in the ATL. Mrs H kept me apprised of my options so things worked out fine.
By the time I got there the party was winding down for the night. I was the partier who wouldn’t leave as I watched the Fresno Boise State game until the wee hours. Mr H joined me for the late night TV watching. He usually does.

Saturday was a miniature GO JUMBO. Chris and I (mainly Chris) hooked up two TVs on the porch and made our annual Man Bet (Bruce wanted the video after the game), got out our cigars, poured various varieties of bourbons and settled back for several hours of college football.
Before the State game, we agreed on OSU’s inability to defend the middle of the field, Haskins inability to run or throw under pressure. But he was high on their punter. “Won the Penn State game for us”
He was eerily prescient. It was the determining factor in the game. Starting in the 2nd half, OSU punted to our 5,6,3, 1 (safety), and 2 (OSU TD). By then it was 16-6.
With both Lewerke playing hurt and Rocky playing poorly the game was effectively over. Two more turnovers resulted in a final of 26-6.
I shook Chris’ hand and conceded he had the superior team. It was not videotaped much to the chagrin of Bruce. He demanded a replay but none was coming. Saying it once was difficult. Saying it again was not going to happen.

So now we have two more games left with the defense playing well enough to win any game and the defense and special teams playing poorly enough to lose them right back. We are either going to be 7-5 or 8-4 depending on this week’s game against Nebraska. I’ll count the Rutgers game as a victory already. It looks like we will be playing in Florida for the holidays.
On Sunday we brought the outdoor TVs inside. I had my fill of cigars. They were the first since the Sax Man’s wedding I think. Don’t recall having any at the Big Guy’s wedding but I could be convinced otherwise.
We borrowed the Big Guys Direct TV and rotated amongst the Falcons and Saints games. The Lions were down early so no need to watch that game. There was a bit of comedy though. Cody Parker, the Bears missed four kicks on doinks, You can watch them here Four Doinks
A few board games were played to round out the festivities. Good times had by all.

The picks were slightly profitable. Overall I went 8-7-1 getting Wannstedted not once but twice. Cincinnati was leading by 12, giving 14, they got the ball with 8:40 left, drove the ball to the USF 1 with under a minute to go and preceded to kneel down to win the game. arrrgh
LSU did the same thing. Giving 13.5 and leading by 7, with over 5 minutes to go, the Tigers drive to the Arkansas 1 with a minute to go and kneeled down to win the game. double arrrrgh. If I was in Vegas they would have to call an ambulance for me.
Remember the 2019 GO JUMBO trip is Oct 26th at the Westgate SuperBook.
