Back to back exciting games as Indy clipped KC I was sitting pretty at the end of the New Orleans Philly game. It was going to be the second wild game in a row. The NFL playoffs are off to a great start
In the early game, Indinapolis overcame the second largest deficit ever in NFL playoff history. Down 38-10 early in the second half, the Colts rallied to pull out a 45-44 win.
In the second game, I was feeling comfortable as New Orleans pulled ahead 20-7 over Philly. But with an injury to NO CB Keenan Lewis, the Eagle WR DeSean Jackson finally got going. Against a depleted Saints secondary, the Eagles took the lead 24-23 with 5 minutes to go.
I was in good shape if the Saints could sustain a clock killing drive. They did. New Orleans converted two thris and ones to hang on to the ball as they drove to the Philly 14 and keeping the ball for the final 4:54. And while the walk off FG was meaningless to me as I was getting 2.5 while trailing by one. It was huge for the Saints. The FG was good and Saints won 26-24. WIN

And New Orleans won on the last play Green Bay vs San Francisco over 46.0 - I know, I know - the weather is going to be brutal for the game. Temps are expected to be in the single digits at kickoff and the wind chill in the minus teens. Bitterly cold temps and wind is not conducive for the offenses.
But these teams combines for 62 points back in week one. Green Bays defense was healthy in that game and is now down Clay Mathews. That should give time for Kaepernick to make his throws. Kaepernick is peaking. Last week he threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs against a stout Arizona defense. Green Bay's defense is awful ranking 27th overall. Add in Michael Crabtree is back and the NINers should score some points.
The big news is that Aaron Rodgers is back too. In a crucial warm up game in week 17 Rodgers also threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs against the Bears to win a playoff berth. The Niners defense is solid against the run but has holes in the pass defense. Radgers will find the time and make plays downfield.
Last year every week one game was an under. But so far this year one gamI'll go with the line overestimating the impact of the weather, sit back and have fun rooting for the over.
