Mark has burned his game day shirt
The Doofus Deck was opened for the last game of the college football season. It was a chilly night and the gang was bundled up. Ellis passed - sending this song as the reason Bones Bones. I hear ya Ellis
I took the occasion to break out a 20 year old Spartan winter jacket. It was a cool old retro thing - saw many a Spartan loss in that jacket.
Before the game I was thinking of taking ND +9.5 as a Mega Bet. I had won several bets fading the Tide. But the Big Flippy was adamant that it would be a blow out. Good thing I listened. The game was effectively over early in the second quarter. By then, Bama had 21 points and ND had 23 yards of total offense. Mark was furiously saying rosaries but to no avail. The final score was 42-14. It was not even that close. Somewhere during the month layoff the Domers forgot how to tackle.
My last picks of Week 18 were clunkers too as

Week 18 Part 9 Recap:
Indianapolis +7.0 vs Baltimore – Indianapolis was able to drive on the Ravens but stalled in scoring position. The Colts drove deep into Ravens territory seven different times but came out with 3 FGs, a missed FG, lost a fumble and had a pick. The final drive ended when time ran out. Give credit to Ray Lewis in his final home game for 13 tackles and making timely stops. But the Raven defense is still shaky.
Alquan Boldin torched the Colt secondary for 145 yards and the clinching TD. The teams were nearly even in yardage (Ravens 439 yards to Indy’s 419) but the Ravens got TDs while the Colts settled for FGs. Final score Baltimore 24 Indianapolis 9 LOSS
The final Mini Mega was also a whiff as:
Washington +2.5 vs Seattle – The Skins were dominating jumping to a quick 14 point lead. Then RGIII got injured. He gritted it out but shouldn’t have. He was great before the injury going 6 for 9, 68 yards and 2 TDs. Afterwards he sucked 4 for 10 16 yards, 1 pick and a fumble.
As the game went on his knee got worse until finally in the most gruesome Skin injury since Joe Theisman he reached for a dropped ball and the knee finally just completely collapsed. Calling Dr Andrews
With RGIII unable to throw or pass the Seahawk defense focus on stopping Alfred Morris. Morris had 49 yards prior to the injury but 31 for the rest of the game.
Seattle’s offense was efficient. Russell Wilson threw for 187 yards and ran for another 67. Marshawn Lynch ran for another 132 yards and a TD.
This would have been an exciting game if RGIII stayed healthy. But it was not to be. Final score Seattle 24 Washington 14 LOSS
That brings the very busy Week 18 totals for the Mega Bets to 6-4-2. A winning pace and the same pace for the year so far as it goes to 36-24-2 (60%).
The Mini Megas were quite poor actually during week 18 as they went 1-5-1. Still, for the year they were a nice 15-9-1 (62.5%).
Time to get the NFL picks back on track. During Week 18 they were 0-2 on the Mega Bets and 0-1 on the Mini Megas
So here are the comeback

2012 - not bad - not bad at all
NFL Week 19 Mega Bets
Denver -9.5 vs Baltimore – Peyton Manning has owned Ray Lewis and the Ravens going 9-0 straight up and against the spread. I used that trend to win a Mega bet back in week 16 and it worked. The trend is your friend. I’ll keep riding the Peyton train.
Last week, inspired by the return of Lewis, the Ravens held the Colts to 10 points. Then again, Colt Offensive Coordinator was hospitalized just before the game which may have something to do with their inability to put the ball into the end zone. The Colts matched the Ravens in yards and dominated the time of possession – holding onto the ball for over 37 minutes. They just fell apart in scoring position.
The Broncos will not have the same problems. Back in week 16, the Broncos also dominated the time of possession – holding onto the ball for over 37 minutes. They just turned it into points. The Broncos led 31-3 after three quarters before coasting to a 34-17 rout.
The up and down Raven QB Joe Flacco had a down week with a fumble and a 98 yard pick six which blew the game wide open. Last week Flacco had an up week throwing for 282 yards and 2 TDs. He had all day to find Anquan Boldin. Unlike Indianapolis, Denver has a pass rush led by LBs Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil. Flacco won’t have the time to throw and when he does he will be facing an actual NFL secondary.
Don’t expect the running game to bail Flacco out either. When the last met, Denver held Ray Rice to 38 yards rushing.
Peyton Manning led the league in TD passes (37) and QB rating (105.8) this year. With 2 weeks to prepare and playing at home (Baltimore was 3-5 ATS this year on the road while Denver is 13-3 ATS at home all time in the playoffs) I’ll take Denver and watch Ray Lewis” last game.
