I hope everyone had a great Christmas. The Doofus kids were in town and lots of reindeer games were played. A wide variety of adult beverages were consumed during the game fests making the evenings even more enjoyable.
Plenty of football was watched too. The first Megabet of the Bowl season was an easy victory as the Washington State Colorado State over was hit with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. Their was little if any defense played in a wild game. The Rams ultimately won the game 48-45.
I'm kicking myself for not posting a couple of other Mega Bets in East Carolina -13.5 over Ohio and Marshall-3.0 over Maryland but hey - if you can't sober up in time to post your picks you can't take credit for them
So today, even though I'm plowing through the effects of a late night of euchre playing with Mrs Doofus, Bruce and Mrs Bruce (the boys ruled!), I will get some more picks out there with a couple of picks
Louisville - 3.5 vs Miami (FL) - The Canes went into a downward spiral losing six of their last seven against the spread. A primary reason was losing RB Duke Johnson to a broken ankle back in early November. Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater will be out to impress scouts that he is still the best quarterback in the nation in what should be his last game played on a Saturday. Bridgewater's Cards led the nation in third down conversions and in 3rd down TD passes so he will keep the chains moving. I'm taking the Cards to destroy a fading Cane squad that only beat one FBS team with a winning record (Ga Tech).
Kansas State -6.5 vs Michigan - I'll admit it I'm going with my heart in this one. Plus Michigan has sucked in bowl games lately losing 6 of their last eight. Add in that the lost their starting QB and will be starting on of their usual overrated 5 star recruits - this game is shaping up to be a blowout. Look for KSU to keep the pressure on the Michigan's rookie QB. The offensive line for the skunkbears is awful.
