Some good football last night. I was very surprised at how bad Clemson's defense was and how good Justin Fields looked.
Bama was held to its lowest score all year and yet still dominated Notre Dame. Bur take heart Mootsie, the Domers still covered.
The championship game a week from Monday should be a high scoring dandy.
Hopefully, Chris got his Christmas present from me. I was worried that it would be rendered moot by Clemson but it's still in good shape.
You probably saw it - the brawl after the Mississippi State Tulsa game (another good game by the way)
But what you need to see is this hilarious play by play of how it went down

Towel whip, kick. Let's show that again! I wonder if those two went to the showers for a towel whipping show down
This years truncated bowl season wraps up with four more games today starting with:
NC State +2.5 vs Kentucky, Gator Bowl, Jacksonville FL - Although NC State comes into this game with a better regular-season record, Kentucky is the favorite. One reason why is four of the Wildcats' six losses this season have come against ranked opponents. With the bowl invite, Stoops became the first head coach in Kentucky history to lead the program to five consecutive bowl game appearances.
NC State finished 2-3 against ranked teams, but didn't face Clemson or Notre Dame in ACC play this season. NC State’s three losses came to the three high-powered offenses on the slate – North Carolina, Miami and against the Virginia Tech running game. Kentucky is anything but high powered offensively.
Kentucky is among the worst passing teams in the country. The Wildcats come in averaging only 21.7 points (107th in FBS) and 311.8 yards of total offense per game, good for 117th in the country.

To remedy the situation, Stoops hired Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback coach Liam Coen to be the team’s new offensive coordinator. However, Coen and newly-hired offensive line coach, Eric Wolford, will not be coaching in this game That means other staff members will likely have to step up to fill any holes for the Gator Bowl.
UK has a strong rushing attack and the Wolfpack defense will be without its defensive anchor. Jr. DT, Alim McNeill, an AP 2nd team All-American and graded by Pro Football Focus as the most effective interior defensive lineman in the country, has he is skipping the bowl game to prepare for the draft.
The Pack are on a hot streak having won four games in a row. QB Bailey Hockman has been playing his best football recently. He has recorded two straight 300-yard performances. His task became a little bit easier. The Wildcats CB Kelvin Joseph will be skipping the game for the draft. He’s responsible for 4 of Kentucky’s picks.
61% of the public is going with the underdog which usually means to take the favorite. But I like rooting against the SEC so I’ll take the Pack and the points. No quatloos though. NC State is a flaky team and really didn’t face anywhere near the slate Kentucky went through.

Indiana -6.5 vs Ole Miss, Outback Bowl, Tampa FL – This matchup of Indiana’s defense against the high-powered Ole Miss offense should make for one of the better bowl games outside of the New Year’s Six.
The Hoosiers deserved a New Year’s Six bowl – its only loss came on the road in a close fight to Ohio State. The Hoosiers are pissed too, refusing to wear the Big 10 logo as a way to give the finger to the league. It bends the rules for Ohio State but won’t lift a finger for other teams. This is the Hoosiers chance to show the CFP that it made a mistake with the No. 11 final ranking.
Indiana will also be motivated by the fact it hasn’t won a bowl game since 1991 with five straight losses, the last three real nail biters. Conversely, Ole Miss has won seven of its last eight with the last trip in 2015.

The Ole Miss offense led the SEC and was third in the country with QB Matt Corral bombing away for close to 3,000 yards, but the defense, and this is a good thing for your bowl enjoyment, is awful. They surrendered over 40 points four times and finished 127th against the pass and 104th against the run.
But the Hoosier offense suffered a massive setback when quarterback Michael Penix Jr. suffered a season-ending injury against Maryland on Nov. 28. Behind backup QB Jack Tuttle, the Hoosiers scored only 14 points in their next game against Wisconsin.
I’m going to go with the motivated Indiana and lay the points. It gives me a chance to root for the Big Ten over the SEC. No quatloos though. It’s a tall spread for a team missing a premier player like Penix. I’ll lay a quatloo on the under 66.5 as Indiana’s defense slows down the Ole Miss attack.
