The Sax Man and Swag Man cooked up a wonderful feast I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! The Doofus family was able to gather around and have a great meal at the Sax Man’s house. The grandkids were have a blast, running around begging to get tickled to which we were more than happy to oblige.
The night before we gathered at the Swag Mans house for adult beverages and board games. The Swag Man gave us an Irish good night. Doofus Favorite Disney Daughter and I were waiting for him to finish his turn, when after 15 minutes we realized he had gone to bed. I’ll give him a break, I was 5 in the morning. Still his turn though. Maybe tonight.
The Bowl picks have been fantastic so far with a perfect record 0-5. Time to end this streak and forget about opt outs and missing head coaches. They don’t appear to have any influence on the games at all. I’ll just go with how I would have picked them during the regular season.

Ta'Ron Keith is a bulldozer of a back Bowling Green vs Minnesota over 41.5 – Both teams love to run and both teams struggle to stop the run.
The Gophers will be down to their 3rd string QB, Cole Kramer. Kramer had taken a total of six snaps this year. Normally, I would assume that would mean fewer points but so far this bowl season it means stupid turnovers and defensive scores.
Minnesota gets their best RB back from injury, however, with Darius Taylor, who has been out since week 8.
Bowling Green has a stud RB too in Ta’Ron Keith. He’s a bulldozer, averaging 4.1 yards after contact. Should he get into the red zone, he should get plenty of scores. The Gophers are in the bottom five in allowing teams to score within their own 20.
By the way, the Minnesota DC won’t be on the sidelines. He will be State’s new DC. He better get this problem fixed.

Ismail Mahdi will get plenty of yards too Rice versus Texas State over 60 – I’ll go for the over here too both for the opposite reason, rather than betting against bad defenses, Ill bet on productive offenses.
Texas State can beat you through the air with QB TJ Finley who has thrown for 3,287 yards and 24 touchdowns. And on the ground with RB Ismail Mahdi who cranked out 1,209 yards and 10 scores on the ground.
Texas State ranked top-20 in Offensive Line Yards, Rushing success rate and Passing success rate. The Bobcats were also fantastic at finishing drives, a big reason why their offense was so successful.
Rice will be slinging the ball all day long as Texas State is horrific in the secondary. QB AJ Padgett came in late in the season when JT Daniels retired for medical reasons. He threw six touchdown passes and three picks over the last three outings, but most importantly, he hit 64% of his throws on the year.
The formula for the Owls has to be just this simple. Run enough to keep the Bobcats excellent pass rush honest. then get Padgett to hit the midrange throws against a D that’s totally awful on third downs, and take shots down the field against that terrible secondary.
