Tyjae Spears leads a potent Tulane rushing attack Cotton Bowl – USC -2.0 vs Tulane – Cincinnati came into the year having just played in the CFP. Houston was a media darling with a ton of talent returning and UCF is always a favorite to win the AAC. And yet, here’s Tulane as the AAC champ. It’s been a brilliant year for the wave, turning a 2-10 record in 2021 into an 11-2 season and AAC Championship.
Tulane did it with one of the more exciting offenses in the country, led by QB Michael Pratt and running back Tyjae Spears. Spears had 1,376 yards rushing, scoring 15 TDs. He got better as the season went on, averaging less than 100 YPG through the first three games accelerating from there on, rushing for 181 yards and two TDs against Cincinnati and 199 yards and a TD in the AAC title game. Tulane has the 21st-highest scoring average in the nation this season (35.2 PPG) and one of the best rushing attacks in college football (197.1 yards per game).
Pratt passed for 2,776 yards and 25 touchdowns, adding another ten touchdowns on the ground as the team's second-leading rusher (114 carries for 395 yards).
The defense was superb too. It was the best in the AAC in points allowed and third down stops. Tulane’s 20.5 points allowed per game ranks 23rd in the country, led by a pass defense that allows just 188.5 yards per game.

USC defense was pathetic While no one expected Tulane to be here, A New Years Six game is right around where USC was supposed to be. Led by Oklahoma transplants Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley the Trojans went 11-2 with the only losses were to Utah. Riley, started amassing talent from the moment he arrived. Along with Williams, Riley was able to bring in All-American receiver Jordan Addison from Pitt and former Oregon running back Travis Dye. Both Addison and Dye will be out for the game, however.
With all the weapons Riley was able to amass, the Trojans offense has been one of the nation’s best, ranking eighth in Pass Success and third in scoring with 41.1 points per game.

B.J. Ojulari opted out of this game Cheez-It Citrus Bowl - LSU -13.5 vs Purdue - This game is unbettable. Both teams are a shell of what they showed during the season.
LSU QB Jayden Daniels is expected to play but is hurt. WR Jaray Jenkins declared for the NFL Draft and said he won’t play in the bowl game. WR Kayshon Boutte, the team’s most dangerous receiver, reversed-course on Wednesday and declared for the NFL Draft and opted-out.
On defense, DE BJ Ojulari declared for the NFL Draft and opted-out. Ojulari was followed by DE Ali Gaye and NT Jaquelin Roy, who both made the same decision. And with that, DT Mekhi Wingo remained as LSU lone remaining starting defensive lineman left standing for the bowl game.
Also opting out are CB Jay Ward and CB MekhiGarner also declared and will sit. Garner had 43 tackles and a team-high eight pass deflections in his one year starting at LSU.
