He’s hit the portal and the backup, Aveon Smith is hitting less than 50% of his passes. He’ll get nowhere against the nations 24th best pass defense.

DeWayne McBride pushing 2,000 yards rushing UAB had a disappointing season. After starting out 4-2, they lost four of five before winning in their finale over Louisiana Tech to qualify. Interim HC, Bryant Vincent, promoted when former HC Bill Clark abruptly retired just prior to the season didn’t impress the higher ups and so former Super Bowl champion and talking head Trent Dilfer will take over next season.

RB DeWayne McBride has carried the ball 233 times for 1,713 yards and 19 touchdowns this season and is coming off a record-setting performance versus Louisiana Tech as he rushed for 272 yards and a touchdown. Jermaine Brown, with a big performance on Friday, could eclipse 1,000 yards for the season, as he enters the Bahamas Bowl with 832 yards on 142 carries.
