Georgia Clemson was a defensive gem Week 1 is in the bag and now the pros join in on the fun this week. The NFL action is off to a great start. Thursday’s game between the Bucs and Cowboys was a barn burner chock full of action, ending in a game winning FG with 2 seconds left. Fun fun fun!
Last week’s college football had plenty of great moments and eye openers too. Georgia’s defense looks good enough to win it all and Clemson’s defense, as Mr. H made sure to point out, was a lot better than last years Keystone Kops. Expect to see a rematch sometime in January.
Loved the sign in the sign in the stands – ACC = All Cup Cakes. Hope some Spartan fan uses that next week down at the Hard Rock.
They aren’t going to the playoffs but the Notre Dame FSU game was a blast to watch too. Milton McKenzie returning to the field and leading the Noles to 10 points late in the fourth quarter to force OT was fantastic. FSU looks a lot better than you thought.

Tulane nearly pulled off the upset Bruce is still crowing about how Tulane made it a game against Oklahoma. The Wave scored 2 TDs to get within five, then recovered the onside kick to get a chance to take the lead. But a fourth and 14 fell two yards short and the Sooners ran out the clock. Just put the TV on mute the next time you hear that Oklahoma Grinch defense. Now that they can’t go on and on about the vaunted scUM Don Brown Defense they’ve latched on to Grinch.
UCLA taking down LSU cost me a few shekels, didn’t see that coming. College football needed the PAC -12 to take the SEC down a few notches though.
About that PAC 12 – it took a late comeback win by Oregon over Fresno State to keep the North from going winless. Fortunately for the PAC 12 most people were asleep when Nevada took down Washington State. Even worse, Montana over Washington? Ooof.

UAB +24.5 @ Georgia – Are the Dawgs in for a bit of a let down after the big win over Clemson. And was the Clemson defense really that goos or does UGA have a few issues on the offensive side of the ball.AB JT Daniels is hurt. UAB is one of the better CUSA teams. I’ll take the points for a quatloo.
NC State -1.0 @ Mississippi State – That whole Pirate Air Raid thing just isn’t working in the SEC. With Va Tech taking down North Carolina and Miami (FL) getting exposed, the Pack could be the 2nd best team in the ACC. I’m in for a Mini Mega on the Pack.

Indiana couldn't spell their own state correctly - how were they going to beat Iowa? Appalachian State +9.0 at Miami (FL) – The Canes were exposed by Bama, can they recover in time to face what might be the top team in the Fun Belt (yeah, I see you Coastal). 9 points is way too much, I’ll put a Mini Mega on the Mountaineers to cover.

Iowa St (-4) vs Iowa - The Cyclones have a chance to make the Playoffs if they run the table and win the BIG 12, but they can’t stumble here if they want to do that. They have to beat the Hawkeyes if they want to realize that dream.
Cal (+11.5) @ TCU - The Golden Bears have had success in recent years going East and winning against SEC (Ole Miss) and Big 12 (Texas) opponents. The Sheriff likes his Bears to cover and possibly even win this one. Defense travels.
Stanford (+17.5) @ USC - The Condoms will break Saturday night in the Collie. Stanford has too much pride not to cover this number
The Big Flippy likes Iowa State too, along with Arkansas +6.5 vs Texas.
