All the while, we managed to hit several good restaurants, light a few cigars and watch a ton of football. Great weekend.
Tech is still a work in progress. They made it exciting, taking the opening kickoff to the UCF 21 and then punched it in to take a 7-0 lead. After getting behind 28-7 they managed a fierce comeback, cutting the lead early in the fourth to 28-21.
But this is a team that is a work in progress . Turnovers were a killer and when Central Florida turned it up in the fourth quarter the Jackets went into a surrender nap. Final score 49-21.
UCF picked up where they left off last year, favorites to win the AAC. The offense is humming. 660 yards against an improving Jacket defense was impressive. And the defense is flying to the ball forcing five GT turnovers.

D'Eriq King has sparked the Cane offense Miami (FL) has taken the early lead in the next best team in the ACC sweepstakes. QB D'Eriq King was fantastic, passing for 325 yards and three scores in a tidy 47-34 win over Louisville.

App State got ranked and then quickly tanked, losing to Marshall 17-7. The Herd defense led the way, allowing an opening drive TD and then shutting out App State the rest of the way. It was Marshall's first win over a ranked team since 2003.

The Ragin' Cajuns finally snapped on the chin straps and won in OT 34-31. Too little too late - it was a Mega Bet loss.
