Iowa took a lunch bucket to our head For Spartan fans that was butt ugly. Iowa just plain out-physicaled us. Both lines were dominated, the turnover gremlin returned and there were more special team breakdowns.
The good news is that there were several superb recruiting commitments this week and these guys are massive. Help is on the way. Coach T likes size on his lines and he is getting it.
If I told you before the season began that we would be 1-2 you would have probably said that is about right – a win over Rutgers and losses to scUM and Iowa. Not sure we will get to 4-4 like I hoped though.
Indiana is having a breakthrough year and Ohio State is on its way to the playoffs but in this wild and crazy year anything can happen. I care less about the record and more about fixing those glitches and demonstrating toughness. The Iowa game was a huge regression.

Indiana spilled scUM to take the lead in the East The Indiana game was supposed to be scUM’s rebound game. Last year the Wolverines needed OT to beat Army then get trounced by Wisconsin. The calls for Harbaugh’s head were escalating and then - scUM 52 Rutgers 0 and a 9-4 season.
This year it was supposed to be Indiana’s turn to get Rutgered. Final score - Indiana 38 scUM 21 and wasn’t even that close. Michigan was dominated. scUM ran 18 times against Indiana for a grand total of 13 yards. The last time they were held under 30 yards rushing - 28 yards in a loss to Michigan State back on October 3rd, 2009. That was a fun game.
Side note - it was the first time ever that Indiana beat scUM and Penn State in the same year.
With Ohio State and Wisconsin still to be played 4-4 might be the best scUM can do and looking at the rest of the schedule, there are no free spaces. Things could get real ugly in Ann Arbor.

Florida bombed away on the Dawg secondary Will Wiscy play enough games to qualify for the Big Ten championship? One more miss and they are out. The game @ Northwestern next week will decide the West. Yeah, you saw that one too.

The biggest loser in Notre Dame’s win over Clemson was not Clemson, they can still get into the CFP if Trevor comes back and down the Domers in a rematch in the ACC championship game. Nope, the loser is Cincinnati. ND’s win opens the door for 2 ACC teams plus the Big Ten and SEC.

The other Spartans are 3-0 Just goes to show you that it's not over until it is. And I hope coaches that like to freeze the kicker were watching. Freezing the kicker sucks!
They won't make the CFP but Liberty is 7-0 with two wins over the ACC. I despise Hugh Freeze but a NY6 BYU-Liberty matchup would be fun.
There was another wild game on Friday night. NC State took a 41-31 lead entering the fourth quarter. Miami (FL) scored 13 points on three straight drives to pull it out 44-41. D'Eriq King threw for over 400 yards, tossed for 5 TDs and ran for another 100 yards. The last player to do that - D'Eriq King while playing for Houston against USF in 2018.
And a shout out to the other Spartans. San Jose State beat San Diego State on Friday to go to 3-0. The last time they were 3-0, they beat a trio of PAC 12 teams including some guy named John Elway back in 1982.
I had a great week. The 8 team money line parlay paid off (as did Woz's). and I got a win on the Point Whore Parlay.
