That was much, much better. Much sweeter. All your home town heroes won.
Johnny E was barely into his first brat when Bucky jumped all over scUM. It was a complete dismantling. They pounded them on both sides of the line and ran all over Dan Brown’s vaunted defense. The Peed in Place offense was just that.
The Blue backers are now saying that they are nothing more than a stadium, helmet and a fight song. The media is pounding on Harbaugh saying he likes the fire from his first couple of years, he wears people out, the team is quitting on him and he just might not be that good of a coach. Sounds familiar. All the same things we’ve been saying for years.
Of course, beat Rutgers next week and they will be back to being the same old idiots as before. “It was an aberration. We’ll get them in the Title game” Yeah right. Good luck with that.

The Saxy Lady has yet to come down from UGA’s win over Notre Dame. Good heavyweight back and forth battle. ND came back from a 23-10 deficit, got it down to 23-17, and drove to the UGA 38. Dawg fans could feel their undies squeezing. But a 4th and 8 pass fell incomplete clinching the win. Great game.
Every time I would start thinking about rooting for the underdog, Chip Kelly would come on the screen dropping F Bombs on the refs and his assistants. Some were giving it right back. They players were catching hell too. scUM fans, if you want to have a HC show some fire, be careful what you wish for.
Auburn also held off a late surge by Texas A&M. the Tigers were up 28-10 to start the 4th quarter before the Aggies cut the lead to 28-20 with 2:12 to go. The onside kick failed and Auburn went on to win. This isn’t the high flying Tiger attack of old. It wins with its OL and DL stocked with next level talent and grinds out wins.

Of course, the best game was State taking it to their old nemesis Northwestern. They started slowly and frankly when the Cats, down 7-0, were at our goal line after a muffed punt, it seemed like the season was about to go down the tubes. But the defense made a fantastic stand causing NU to go 4 and out from the 7 yard line. After a pick, the offense finally found a spark and by the end of the first half we were up 14-3. Breathing room as Mike correctly put it.
The floodgates opened and early in the fourth quarter we were up 31-3. A very satisfying win. Northwestern is far from the Big Ten West Champ from last year but they have been a thorn in our side for years. Now let’s see of the offense can be effective for two weeks in a row.
And fortunately, Tech didn't play, so as to not ruin everyone's parade.
The picks were much much better too.

I went 4-1 on the Mini Megas with:
BC -8.0 @ Rutgers - The Eagles bounced back from their loss to Kansas. AJ Dillon ran all over Rutgers Final 30-16 W
Wisconsin -3.5 vs scUM - Gets better each time I say it Wiscy 35 scUM 14 W
Toledo -9.0 @ Colorado State - The Sheriff was watching Wazzou completely melt down costing him a Mega Bet. You were sleeping with dreams of sugar plums and Spartan wins in your head. I was watching Toledo blow the cover but hold on to win 41-35 L
Cal +2.0 @ Ole Miss - PAC12 officials and a controversial ending – doesn’t that sound familiar. Ole Miss thought they had a TD with 15 seconds to go but the refs ruled the WR short and wouldn’t review the call. The Rebs then tried to hurry a QB sneak that was stuffed.
Ole Miss interim AD Keith Carter tweeted The Rebels "are expecting a full explanation from the Pac-12 regarding the call and subsequent non-review of the 3rd down play," "We feel strongly that the play should have been reviewed by the Pac-12 officials in the review booth. Even if the play didn't result in a touchdown, the spot of the ball on 4th down was questionable." Funny, I don’t remember our AD calling out the PAC12 refs.
Worked in may favor as Cal easily covered 28-20. W
Lions +7.0 @ Philadelphia - Yes you can bet on the Lions and win. A kickoff return for a TD got things started as Detroit downed a depleted Eagles team 27-24. Of course they almost blew it when a 46 yd FG was blocked. Philly got the ball back but turned it over on downs. The Lions are undefeated after three games but repeat after me "These are still the Lions" W
4-1 on Mini Megas - looks like I might have to use the dial down strategy again this year for the Go Jumbo trip/

Other takeaways from week 4:
How about those comebacks. Wazzou led 49-17, the Sheriff was already mentally spending his winning, only to UCLA go on a come back for the ages 67-63 with a minute to go. The Sheriff is still in the fetal position.
Pitt led UCF 21-0 then fell behind 34-28 only to win it with a minute go go on 4th down 35-34. Fun game. Good win for Narduzzi.
Virginia got off to a slow start, trailing Old Dominion 17-0. The woke up and pulled it out in the 4th quarter 28-17.
Houston's offense was rocking as they took a 28-7 pead on Tulane. the Wave stormed back and won the game 38-31 with 3 seconds left on this play

SMU used to be just awful. Now they are 4-0 since the first time since 1984 with a win over TCU.
Is the Mack Brown era at North Carolina a flash in the pan? The Heels were turning heads with wins over Tennessee and Miami (FL) in weeks 1 and 2. Now they are 2-2 after losses to Wake Forest and, shades of scUM, App State.
Kansas under Les Miles is looking better. Granted they lost, but hung tough against West Virginia 29-24. The JayHawks are no longer a free spot on your schedule.
Temple upset a red hot Maryland last week. This week they fall to a previously winless in the FBS, Buffalo.
With UCF's loss to Pitt, Boise State is the leader of the Group of 5 teams. They have wins over FSU and another Group of 5 contender, Marshall.
