Syracuse blew it for you football fans. Not their miserable play, the Cuse are probably the most disappointing team so far this season. Nope, it’s because by getting smoked by Maryland they are no longer ranked. So this weekend will be the first weekend since Oct 13 2017 there won’t be any games between two ranked teams.
And if this weekend is anything like that one, expect a wild and crazy weekend. A full seven ranked teams lost to unranked teams, six while playing on the road and three that were favored by at least two touchdowns.
The craziness started on Oct. 13, 2017 – a Friday the 13th, just like this week – when that same Syracuse team beat #2 Clemson 27-24 at the Carrier Dome. Later that night, #8 Washington State was blown out at Cal, 37-3.
The craziness continued on into the next day some with serious playoff implications. 10th ranked Auburn lost at LSU and then did not lose again until the SEC championship. Maybe the biggest stunner of all came during football after dark when #5 Washington lost 13-7 at Arizona State.

If you believe there are no such things as coincidences – here are the ranked teams on the road this weekend starting on Friday with
#20 Washington State -9.0 @ Houston – Can the student Dana Holgorsen beat his Master Mike Leach? They coached together at Texas Tech.
Then on Saturday the fateful crew includes:
#1 Clemson -28.0 @ Syracuse – can the Cuse make it 2 straight over the Tigers in the Carrier Dome?
#2 Alabama -25.5 @ South Carolina – Cocks starting a true freshman QB
#5 Oklahoma -23.5 @ UCLA – The Sheriff is not picking sides, he’s going for the over
#6 Ohio State -18.0 @ Indiana – First true road test for OSU QB Justin Fields
#9 Florida -8.0 @ Kentucky – Gators in a revenge game
#12 Texas -32.0 @ Rice – Rice will start back up QB and Harvard transfer Tom Stewart.
#19 Iowa -2.0 @ Iowa State – Game Day coming for the Cy-Hawk trophy
#21 Maryland -7.0 @ Temple – Terps ranked for the first time since 2013
#24 USC -4.5 @ BYU – The Sheriff still favors the Trojans
#20 Washington State -9.0 @ Houston – Can the student Dana Holgorsen beat his Master Mike Leach? They coached together at Texas Tech.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
In fact, I think I’ll do a one time only Wild and Crazy Upset Parlay with
Indiana +18.0 vs Ohio State
Rice +32.0 vs Texas
Iowa State +2.0 vs Iowa
For the normal Point Whore Parlay I’ll go with
Arkansas State +33.0 @ Georgia
Hawaii +21.5 @ Washington
New Mexico +35.0 @ Notre Dame

After last week, I’m a little gun shy making Mega Bets, but in an attempt to get back on the horse here goes:
NC State -6.5 @ West Virginia – Dana Holgorsen left for Houston and Will Grier left for the NFL. What’s left is a WVU team that stinks. It ranks 127th in offense so far.
West Virginia has the second-worst rushing offense going right now and faces a Wolfpack squad that’s fourth against the the run. NC State has allowed just six points all year so far, and they’re making a living behind the line.
This time that ½ point will work in my favor

Colorado -3.5 vs Air Force – Factoring in the home field advantage this game is a push? Why because the Flyboys demolished Colgate? And then has a week off to prepare?
Colorado destroyed the other Mountain State team CSU 52-31 and then overcame Nebraska last week 34-31.
The Buff passing game is rocking now that WR Laviska Shenault is healthy again. The defense is rocking too with seven takeawys on the year so far.
Playing with fire again with the hook again.
Philadelphia -1.5 @ Atlanta – Bruce texted early last week early in the falcons Vikings game last week “WtF with these motherless Falcons” He’s not one or subtlety. He’s right. I responded that the falcon have neither an OL or DL. Time to loom for your back up team. Lions fans know exactly what I mean.
The Eagles will pressure Matty Ice all day while Wentz will have all day to find his receivers.
Philadelphia is a public dog. 80% of the bets are on Philly. It’s a dangerous spot but I’ll go there. Atlanta stinks.

I’ll go with some Mini Megas too:
Maryland -7.0 @ Temple – Jumping on the Locksley bandwagon. No hook to worry about too.
Southern Cal -4.5 vs BYU – BYU is overrated due to the win over Tennessee. Southern Cal may have found their QB in Kedon Slovis
Florida -8.0 vs Kentucky – Revenge game for the Gators. Kentucky really misses RB Benny Snell and LB Josh Allen. Also starting UK QB Terry Wilson is out.
Virginia -7.5 vs Florida State – The Noles can’t hang on to leads. The lead Boise State by 18 and lost. Last week, led by 21 over UL Monroe before needing OT to beat the WarHawks 45-44. Willie Taggert is so concerned about his defense that he hired former USF HC Jim Leavitt to help fix it. Da Bang stick may be looking for a job before the seasons over.
FSU’s secondary is getting lit up like Pat at dme beer night at the old Alley Eye. UVA’s Bryce Perkins is going to have a field day. He leads the ACC in 3rd down conversions.
Just hope that hook doesn’t get me for a third time.

New Orleans -3.0 vs LA Rams – Revenge game for the Saints too after they missed out on the Super Bowl die to one of the worst non calls in playoff history. Great game on Monday night.
The Sheriff is on on roll. He’s going with:
Eastern Michigan (+7.5) @ Illinois - The Sheriff agrees with the Doofus that Illinois’ 2-0 start is a mirage. Eastern Michigan will cover if not outright win.
USC (-4.5) @ BYU - Kedon Slovis is a young man whose name you will want to remember because he looked like his mentor Kurt Warner on Saturday night as he threw for 377 yards against the Cardinal with 3 TDs. He was making NFL-style throws into tight windows and he’s only an 18-year old true freshman.
Granted, it’s only one game and he’s bound to make mistakes when he plays his first road game in front of tens of thousands of angry Mormans on Saturday, but the Condoms have enough talent to overcome any freshman jitters this kid may have. USC is deep and talented at wide receiver.
Oklahoma @ UCLA (OVER 73.5) - The Sooners might be able to cover this number on their own, but hopefully UCLA’s pride will kick in and it will be able to score a few touchdowns during garbage time in the second half. It’s hard to believe this is the same Chip Kelly who won 4 consecutive PAC-12 titles at Oregon. UCLA paid $23.5 million for this?
And for all the games, times, spreads, picks and much much more here is the 2019 Week 3 Bettors Guide
