After I sent out last nights picks I got a blistering text from the Saxy Lady
She was miffed that I had not included her beloved Dawgs in my thoroughly researched, deeply insightful, highly regarded analyses.
I let her know that it was because it was not one that I wanted to drop a quatloo on.
She was still miffed so in the interest of keeping the marital bliss in Music City her we go:

South Carolina +10.0 @ Georgia - It's Georgia's biggest speed bump to the SEC East title. Florida isn't ready to challenge and Tennessee is the scUM of the SEC, perennially overrated.
If anyone is has a chance it's the Cocks. They’ve got a revamped offense, veteran talent on defense, a coaching staff that settled in and the game is in their crib.
Last year, South Carolina was 12th in the SEC in scoring so Will Muschamp brought in a new OC and went to more uptempo. They also get back two key starters who missed last year due to injuries. RB Rico Dowdle is back in the backfield and star WR Deebo Samuels returns to an already deep receiving corp.
The strategy will be to use Dowdle to test a front seven in transition (they didn't record a sack last week against Austin Peay) and then use that WR crop to move the chains and open up the running game.

Easier said than done. Georgia has the best defense in the SEC without numbers on their helmets.
And what is it with Georgia backfields? Despite losing Nick Chubb and Sony Michel to the NFL, it might be even better this year. It's loaded with Brian Herrien, Elijah Holyfield, freshman James Cook and emerging star D’Andre Swift. If they get the ground game going like they did last year, the fans will be leaving in the fourth quarter.
QB Jake Fromm returns for his sophomore year. Last year he was pressed into action as a true freshman when Jacob Eason went down early in the season. He didn't flinch and finished the season considered on of the best in the conference. He throws to a receiving corp that may be even deeper than the Cocks.

This is going to be a great game. The SEC East title is there for the taking. The returning champ takes on the up and coming challenger. Williams-Brice stadium will be electric.
I was going to take Georgia and lay the points but I looked back and saw that I had taken South Carolina in my preseason game of the year picks. I'll stick with that pick but no quatloos.

In the interest of fairness - here's an analysis of the Georgia Tech game too
Georgia Tech -3.5 @ South Florida - It's tech. You know what you are going to get. Tech's triple option is currently ranked second in rushing and has finished in the top 10 every year under HC Paul Johnson
South Florida HC Charlie Strong knows a thing or two about defense. But this year he has to replace his top three tacklers and leader in tackles for a loss and sacks from last season.
His bigger worry is replacing South Florida's best ever offensive player QB Quinton Flowers. Blake Barnett attempts to fill those large shoes. He's a highly-touted prospect who played at Alabama, spent some time at Arizona State and has a a ton of potential. We will see what he's got when he challenges an incredibly young Jacket secondary that lost its best CB Lance Austin to graduation.
I'm going to go with the Bees to grind down the Bulls and lay the points on the road.
