Michigan State +1.5 vs Oregon - Red Box Bowl - A bowl sponsored by a vending machine? And do people still rent DVD's. That's the type of bowl you get MSU when your offense is as painful as being renting "A Pahntom Menace" from a Red Box and being to forced to watch it all night long.
But it's State, so I'll pick them even though what was expected to be the first QB in the draft, Oregon's Justin Herbert, not only playing in the game but coming back next year.
No quatloos though. I Never bet on State. Too many painful memories.

Oklahoma State +9.0 vs Missouri – Liberty Bowl - The Tigers fired out of the box with three straight wins, scoring 40 or more points in each of the outings. However, they lost four straight with losses to Georgia, South Carolina and a drubbing by Alabama. They lost an absolute heartbreaker to Kentucky on the last play of the game. It would be last time they suffered defeat. That loss galvanized the team and they ripped off four straight wins, including a 38-17 win at Florida.
The Cowboys also opened 3-0 before getting tripped up 41-17 at home against Texas Tech. Their best win of the season might have been a 38-35 victory against Texas as short dogs at home, ruining the playoff chances of the Longhorns in the process. They nearly turned the trick against Oklahoma, too, but came up just short in a 48-47 classic in Norman. The Cowboys were able to drop West Virginia out of the picture on Nov. 17.

It’s been a flaky team that’s been able to turn it on at times for 40+ points in big performances, and inexplicably fall flat from time to time. They play down to the competition, going 2-5 in the last seven games.
The two offenses should make this a wild firefight. Oklahoma State averaged 500 yards and 38 points per game, and Missouri averages 469 yards and 37 points an outing. If this gets going right away and the two attacks show up, this might turn out to be one of the bowl season’s most entertaining games.
The trends favor Okie State. The Cowboys are 8-1 ATS in the past nine non-conference tilts, and they're 5-1 ATS in the past six against teams with a winning record. OSU isalso 4-1 ATS in the past five neutral-site contests.
Missouri is 5-2 ATS in the past seven outside of the conference, but they're just 1-4 ATS in the past five against Big 12 foes and 1-8 ATS in their last nine played in December.
I’ll take OSU and the points for a quatloo. The Boys play their best against better competition and that is a ton of points to give a high scoring team. I'll put another quatloo on the over 72.0. Mrs H won’t be talking t me for awhile, I’m going against Stanford and Mizzou.

Northwestern +6.5 vs Utah – Holiday Bowl – It’s the Back up Rose Bowl game. Both teams made it to their conference championship only to fall.
The Wildcats didn't get off to a great start, going 1-3 through the first four games, including losses at home to Duke and Akron. However, they ended up winning seven of their final eight contests to win the Big 10 West and make their first-ever appearance in the league's title game. They were blasted 45-24 by Ohio State to land in this bowl.
The Utes opened with two wins, but they lost to both Washington schools from the Pac-12 to start out 2-2. They rebounded wining seen of their next eight including wins over Stanford and USC to easily qualify for the postseason. A 10-3 loss in the Pac-12 title game showed they have plenty of defense, but their offense was a huge disappointment.
These are two overlooked, rock-solid programs with two fantastic head coaches. Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald is rumored to be getting a look by the Packers.
Northwestern run defense has been fantastic all year long. Only two teams ripped off over 200 yards, Purdue and Nebraska - the Wildcats won both games. Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Michigan? Nope.

The offense relies on QB Clayton Thorson (a projected late 2nd early 3rd round pick) and his safe, accurate, underneath throws. His 52 straight starts set a Big Ten record.
As good as NU’s run defense is, Utah’s is better. Only one team ran for 200 yards, Arizona State. The Ute’s allowed fewer than 100 yards rushing six times.
Thorson will be under pressure all day long too. Utah came up with 103 tackles for loss on the season. The Northwestern offensive line was dead last in the Big Ten in sacks allowed.
Special teams have been strong for the Utes. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky and kicker Matt Gay, made college football history, being the first Ray Guy and Lou Groza award winners from the same team.
Utah is a bowl winning machine. The Utes have won six bowls in a row and 12 of the last 13 under head coach Kyle Whittingham. As a program, it has won 16 of its last 17 going back to loss to Wisconsin in the 1996 Copper. With Marshall winning in the Bad Boy Mowers Bowl to win its seventh straight, Utah needs to win this game to keep pace.
It’s Northwestern. I have to take my Cats. No quatloos though.

Texas A&M -7.0 vs NC State – Gator Bowl – Get ready for another shootout. Texas A&M finished second in the SEC in total offense, only behind Alabama – averaging 466 yards per game – and NC State finished behind Clemson the ACC in total offense averaging 471 yards per outing. It’s the last college football game of 2018. It should be a dandy.
N.C. State fired out of the chute going 5-0 and a Top 25 ranking heading into the Oct. 20 battle at Clemson. They proved they were nowhere near ready for the big time, getting slapped around 41-7 in Death Valley. They followed that up a 51-41 loss at Syracuse to take themselves out of the ACC championship chase.
However, they beat Florida State 47-28 for a good one at home, and won three straight to finish up, including a 58-3 whipping of East Carolina in a make up game on Dec. 1.
A&M had a good start under Jimbo. They went 8-4, with losses to Alabama and Clemson (in a much closer score of 28-26) hardly any shame there. The other two were on the road against Mississippi State and Auburn. They finished the season with a ridiculous 74-72 seven OT win over LSU.

Both teams have outstanding QBs. QB Ryan Finley is a beast for N.C. State, posting 3,789 passing yards, 24 scores and nine INTs. He’s expected to go late in the 2nd round or early in the 3rd in the NFL draft
For A&M, QB Kellen Mond threw for 2,967 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions while running for 387 yards and six scores. Don’t be surprised if the sophomore comes out early for the 2020 draft.
The trends favor the Aggies. A&M has covered seven straight out of conference battles while going 8-3 ATS across the past 11 against winning teams. They have covered nine of the past 13 overall, too. N.C. State is 7-2-1 ATS across the past 10 bowl games while going 4-1 ATS in the past five out of conference. However, they're just 1-6 ATS in their past seven tries against SEC foes.
I’m going to go with A&M for a Mega Bet despite the large spread. NC State is a fraud.
