Revenge game, at home, coming off a bye week. Last week that was the Penn State in Happy Valley coming off a bye versus Michigan. We know how that ended up. PSU blew out scuM.
Now reverse it this week. Ohio State is the one seeking revenge from last years 24-21 loss. The Buckuts will be at home coming off the bye. Same result?
Yeah, I’ll stick with that trend and lay the 6 points. No quatloos though. The PSU defense is too good.
In another revenge game at home (though not off the bye) the Domers host NC State looking to avenge last year’s 10-3 setback played in a monsoon.
The WolfPack’s wins over Florida State and Louisville don’t look all that good now, do they. I’ll take the Domers and lay the 7.5. Joe Rule - no quatloos

And how about a triple revenge? At the Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, Georgia is coming off three straight defeats to Florida. I know, I know, it’s a rivalry game, Florida always seems to have Georgia tough, 14 points is a lot, yada yada yada. But the Gators just don’t score. I’ll take the Dawgs to continue their march to Atlanta. That will be my first and only Mega Bet of the weekend. Don't let me down Saxy Lady.
And finally, Miami (FL) lost last year to North Carolina at home 20-13. Now they travel to Chapel Hill as 20.0 favorites. UNC is bad bad bad. If the Canes want to they will easily beat the spread. I’ll lay the points. Just hope the Canes are up to it. No quatloos though.
Trap game? Oklahoma State beat Texas in OT in Austin last week. Next week the host Oklahoma in the Bedlam. They may be looking past West Virginia. The Neers have the firepower to keep pace with the Pokes. The hook is enticing at home. I’ll take WVU and the 7.5 points. I'll put a quatloo on it.
How far has Iowa State come? They are just 6 point dogs to TCU. If this game was played two weeks ago before their win over Oklahoma and blow out of Kansas the spread would have been closer to 2 TDs. The place will be electric as this will be the biggest game in Ames in years. I’m not sure the Cyclones have the mettle for it though. I’ll lay the points. Make it another Mini Mega.

What happened to San Diego State?. With wins over Arizona State, Stanford and a plucky Northern Illinois, it appeared that the Spaztecs had the inside track to a New Year's Day bowl. Then they got stuffed by Boise State and held to a FG by a resurgent Fresno State. Next up is Hawaii, giving the Rainbows 9.5. I think they find their mojo again. But until I see some better football from SDSU I limit the wager to a quatloo.
For this week's Point Whore Parlay I'll go with
Georgia Tech +14.0 @ Clemson
Texas Tech +20.0 @ Oklahoma
San Jose State +12.5 @ BYU
And since it's revenge week I'll go with the theme and do a revenge parlay too with
Miami (FL) -20.0 @ North Carolina
Notre Dame -7.5 vs NC State - Joe rule does not apply to parlays
Marshall -17.0 vs Fla International
Not a lot of bets this weekend. Saving my quatloos for the GO JUMBO trip in a couple of weeks

The Coaching Carousel continued last weekend when Georgia Southern let go Tyson Summers. Summers was hired when former HC Willie Fritz left for the Big Easy.
It was a bad fit. Georgia Southern is, has been and always should be about the triple option. Fritz was a defensive coach with no triple option experience. After a 5-7 season last year he started 0-6 including a loss to previous winless UMass 55-20. Let’s hope they go with the next Paul Johnson for their next hire.
Next up – Butch Jones at Tennessee. For only the second time since 1995, the Vols are a dog to Kentucky. Overall they are 31-1 against KY but if he loses this week he may not survive the season.
Here's a fun fact, the winner of the Michigan Rutgers game gets to claim sole possession of fourth place in the Big Ten East. Mr 3rd place is now playing for fourth.

The Sheriff hopes to keep his winning streak going with these picks
Washington (-17) vs UCLA. This is the easiest pick of the week. Coming off a bye week and a disastrous loss on the road to Arizona State, the Huskies will take out their frustration on a weak UCLA team that is 0-3 on the road this year. Washington wins big.
Arizona State/USC (UNDER 58). This is the game of the week in the PAC-12 South with both teams having just one loss in conference play. USC has had trouble moving the ball on the ground lately, and the Sun Devils have one of the best defenses in the conference having held Washington and Utah to a combined total of 17 points the last two weeks. The Sheriff was VERY tempted to take Arizona State to win, but he doesn’t want to give the Condoms any undue motivation so he will take the UNDER in anticipation of a low-scoring game and root for an ASU win in the Desert.
Arizona/Wazzu (OVER 64.5). After watching Khalil Tate dismantle his beloved Bears, the Sheriff thinks this kid is the real deal. Luke Falk and the Washington State offense only scored 28 points last week playing in a rainstorm in Pullman, but it never rains in Arizona so conditions should be ideal to light up the scoreboard. This will be an exciting, high-scoring game. Don’t be surprised if both Arizona schools win at home this weekend against favored opponents.

The Sax Man is heading up to the windy city this week to watch the award winning Hamilton. Figuring most good CFB games this year have been in Prime-Time, I opted for the Matinee tickets. The Saxy Lady was just fine with this plan as she wouldn't have to endure the nervousness that comes with watching her Bulldogs take on Florida. Of course, the scheduling gods at the networks decided this was the week to overload the 3:30 slot with all the best games so hopefully this play is worth it!
Pittsburgh @ Detroit OVER 45.5: The Steelers offense has come alive in the past few weeks, and Detroit has gotten at least 23 points in every game but one. I think both teams score in the 30's after Detroit mounts a furious fourth quarter comeback.
Notre Dame (-7.5) vs. NC State: NC State's best win is against Marshall. I think Notre Dame continues their high-powered offensive attack and NC State just can't keep up. Irish win 38-24.
The Doofus - good pick
TCU (-6.5) @ Iowa State: TCU is the most complete team in the Big XII. If you had told people at the beginning of October that TCU wouldn't even be favored by a TD in this game, they would have wondered what had happened to the Horned Frogs. I think TCU bursts the Cyclone's bubble and wins in Ames 28-10.
The Doofus - I like this one too
