Marcus Baugh won it for the Nuts with a little over a minute to go Well that was fun. Not so much the State game. That was exciting and a good game but a young team left too many points on the field and then the defense ran out of gas in OT.
Keep in mind that their flight to Evanston was delayed so long that State took the bus and didn’t get in until 7:30 the night before. No excuses. Northwestern won but we will be back.
The fun game was Ohio State Penn State. OSU spotted PSU 14 points out of the gate and come storming back to pull it out 39-35 with 1:48 left.
The Bucknuts were able to overcome a kick off return for a TD and being -2 in turnovers and still win. The reason, PSU run game is inefficient and the OSU defense just wore the Nits down.
Chris texted after the game that he was going to crawl into a bottle of bourbon in order to calm his nerves. Not sure if he made it out yet or not.
If Ohio State wins out including a likely match against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game they just punched their ticket to the playoffs.

Georgia got 3 years of revenge out of their system with a blow out of the Gators Georgia could get in too if they win out but lose a close one to Bama in the SEC championship game. That 42-7 win over Florida was impressive and got HC Jim McElwain the Ziggy. Got me a Mega Bet win too.
Too bad I gave all the winnings back in Mini Mega losses and other quatloo losses too. I went a resounding 19-34-2 in total picks and broke even overall. Good thing I kept the wagering down this week. Hopefully I get these bad picks out of the way before the GO JUMBO weekend.
Some other observations from week 9

Miami (FL) won but didn’t cover too. The difference? The Canes have gone under 5 straight and 6 of their last 7.
Notre Dame got their revenge over NC State 35-14. It was the Domers 6th straight cover. Might have to relax the Joe rule in a couple of weeks.
