The Doofus Brothers went up to the Maniacs place for great weekend with the Mother of all Doofusses. We had plenty of good food, adult beverages, some board games we played as kids, even a beautiful boat ride. And, of course, there was plenty of football!
Despite all the haters, the Doofus was 34-25 overall and a perfect 3-0 on the Mega Bets again this weekend. Don’t recall ever going back to back perfection. Off to a great start this year.
Iowa -2.5 @ Iowa State – This was a fantastic back and forth, punch, counter punch game. Iowa finally pulled it out in OT winning 44-41 just covering the spread.
It’s the second time this year I’ve won by half a point. That will catch up with me soon enough. WIN
Minnesota +2.0 @ Oregon State – The Gophers pounded away with the run game, scoring their most points on the road since 1980. Minnesota scored 28 unanswered points in the second half blowing out the Beavers 48-14 WIN
Philadelphia -1.5 @ Washington – Kirk Cousins threw a pick at the goal line, was sacked 4 times and fumbled twice as the Eagles rolled 30-17. Carson Wentz used his mobility to escape pressure, threw for over 300 yards and 2 TDs.
I got a huge break when an obvious incomplete pass by Cousins was ruled a fumble, which led to a scoop six by the Eagles that put the game away.
Zach Ertz had a nice game as expected generating 17.3 fantasy points. Your welcome Woz. WIN

And the season's first Point Whore Parlay was a winner as Fresno State +43.5, Pitt +21.0 and Middle Tenn State +9.5 all covered. The profits keep coming in.
The Sax Man may have puked all over the Doofus' picks but at least he had some good replacements. He went 2-1 with:
UGA @ ND Under 57.0 - Excellent call as defense ruled. Georgia hit a late FG to win 20-19 WIN
Tulane +13.0 @ Navy - The Middies went ahead 23-13 after three quarters, putting this one at risk. But Tulane scored to start the 4th quarter and get the cover 23-21 WIN
Falcons -6.5 @ Bears The Bears had four shots into the endzone at the end of the game but came up empty. Falcons won 23-17 but the Sax Man lost by the hook. Ouch LOSS
The Sheriff continues to struggle going 1-2 again with
San Diego State (+3.5) @ Arizona State. - Good call on Rashaad Penny. He had 353 all purpose yards ans scored on a pass, rushing and a KO return as SDSU dominated Sparky 30-20
Stanford (+6.5) @ USC - the Trojan run defense made a huge improvement as they shut down the Tree and rolled 42-24 LOSS.
Oregon (-14) vs Nebraska - Oregon had a 42-14 lead at the half but the Cornholers rallied for 21 points in the secnd half. A TD with 2:47 left got the back door cover. LOSS
