There are rivalry games and there is the rivalry game. Forget USC UCLA or Ohio State Michigan. And don’t tell me about your big game against your in state arch nemesis.
No this is the biggest rivalry game of them all. By far.
So big that college football makes it their only game this week.
There’ll be flyovers, men and women in uniform and traditions galore. Even the uniforms are cool.
This year Army will be honouring the 10th Mountain Division while Navy will honor the Blue Angels.
One of my favorite games of the year.
And it should be a dandy. Army finally go the monkey off its back. After losing 14 straight to Navy, the Black Knights won last year 21-17. Now they have a chance to win the Commander in Chief trophy for the first time since 1996.

You know what you are going to get in this game. Triple option left, triple option right and then up the middle. Make it a drinking game and take a shot if either team passes. And then make a wager as to whether there will be more punts or passes
These teams rank #1 (Army) and #2 (in rushing). Not surprisingly, they rank last (Army) and 3rd from the bottom (Navy) in passing. The Sax Man points out that Georgia Tech ranked 2nd from the bottom in passing.
With all that running, Navy is first in time of possession while Army is 4th. Number 2? Why that's good old Michigan State. Did not see that coming.
So who is better?

Army has the better record at 8-3. It's the first 8 win season for Army since the last time they won the CiC trophy.
The Cadets are led by QB Ahmad Bradshaw who set the Army rushing record with 1,427 yards this season. He will likely pass the record for service academies set by Navy's Napoleon McCallum with 1,583. It was Bradshaw who scored the late TD last year to beat Navy.
He's joined in the backfield with RB Darnell Woolfork. He and Bradshaw have 11 TDs each this year. A key reason why Army poised to set the school record for TDs in a season. So far they have 43, two shy of the record set way back in 1945.

Navy comes in at 6-5. But the Middies played a tougher schedule and lost star QB Zach Abey in the middle of a 5 of 6 losing streak.
Included in their losses were close but no cigar defeats at the hands of undefeated central Florida 31-21 and a 24-17 setback to Notre Dame.
Abey is back and should be healthy. Despite missing two games he still ran for 1,322 yards and scored 14 TDs. He is joined by RB Malcom Perry with 818 yards and 8 TDs.
Navy can throw a change up by passing to WR Tyler Carmona who has 4 TDs.

It will be snowing at Lincoln Financial Field but it won't affect these teams. Navy is 12-0 at the Linc including 10-0 versus Army.
This is going to be a great game. I'll be rooting for Navy to sing second but picking Army to cover the three points. No quatloos though
The under is 11-0 in this game but I'm going to go with the over.
The over/under started at 51 but was quickly brought down to 46. It now sits at 44.5.
Both offenses average over 30 points per game and the defense have taken a step back this year. Navy's defense has allowed 24+ points in seven straight games and its game versus triple option Air Force was a 48-45 shoot out.
Army's defense was exposed in a 52-49 loss to North Texas back in week 12.
Overall, the totals in Army games average 52.8 points. Navy games average even more at 59.6.
I'll put a Mini Mega on the over.

For the NFL. Well, things started to revert to normal. Last week I killed it on the college games. I went 1-0 on the Mega Bet, 4-0 on quatloo games offset by going 0-1 on the Mini Mega game when Troy scored the winning TD with 17 seconds left. Overall very profitable.
I broke even on the NFL games going 1-1 getting lucky when Tennessee scored on a 75 TD to get the cover with 46 seconds left. I went 1-1 on the Mini Megas too.
So I'm feeling a little less confident this week on the pros so no Mega bets this week
I will put down some Mini Megas though on:
Chicago +6.5 @ Cincinnati - It was a brutal hard hitting games last week between the Bengals and the Steelers. LB Vontaze Burfict and RB Joe Mixon were to injuries. Cincinnati lost the game late and will now miss the playoffs.
Not only are they hurt but they should be flat too. I'll take the Bears getting nearly a TD.
San Francisco +3.0 @ Houston - The Niners decided to play Jimmy Garoppolo with excellent results. He kept the chains moving going 10-18 on third downs and moving the Niners into the red zone five different times. Too bad they had to settle for field goals in a 15-14 win.
He should easily out battle Houston's Tom Savage. The Niners will win this game out right.
Tennessee -3.0 @ Arizona - . I got lucky last week with Tennessee so I'll keep things rolling. And betting against Arizona QB Blaine Gabbart is usually a winner.
The Cardinal's OL is one of the worst in the league. Gabbart will be under pressure and start throwing picks just like he did last week.

Seattle +2.5 @ Jacksonville - Trap game? That may be but the worng team is favored. The defenses are about equal but Seattle has a much better offense. Who would you rather have under center - Russell Wilson or Blake Bortles? Exactly
Jacksonville just lost LB Telvin Smith to a concussion so Jimmy Graham should have a good day. Jaguar DB Jalen Ramsey is fighting a hammy too so Wilson will take some deep shots.
Motivation will with the home team. Seattle just beat Philadelphia and has a huge game with the Rams next week so they may overlook this game.
This is Jacksonville's biggest home game of the year so they will be pumped.
It may be a trap game but I'll still put a wager on the Seahawks.
