Some more sad news came on Tuesday. Spartan legend Eric "The Flea" Allen passed away at the age of 66 due to complications related to Alzheimer's. Eric was only 5' 9" tall and 160 pounds earning the nickname - the Flea.
But he was a workhorse running back. He is best known for setting the single game rushing record in 1971 against Purdue when he reeled off 350 yards as well as setting the all purpose yards record with 397. He was ultimately named the Big Ten Player of the year in 1971.
After a good start with the Mini Megas on Thursday - it's time to step it up with some full blown Mega Bets. One last tune up before GO JUMBO

Tulsa -3.5 @ SMU - Tulsa is playing for a chance at a bowl spot. SMU is playing for next year.
Both these team suck on defense ranking in the bottom 10 overall. The difference? Tulsa is fantastic on offense generating nearly 550 yards per game 8th overall. The Golden Hurricane can beat you through the air behind the passing of QB Dane Evans or on the ground using RB Zane Langer.
SMU is just OK on offense (58th overall). QB Matt Davis struggled last week against Memphis going 9-24 and a pick.
It only takes a couple bad drives to end up way behind Tulsa. As SMU continues to find some consistency, Tulsa will roll getting one more game closer to bowl eligibility.
The trends favor the Hurricane. They are 6-1 on the road ATS while SMU is 3-7 ATS at home.

Appalachian State -24.0 vs Troy - Troy decided they are not the worst team in the Sun Belt by destroying Mew Mexico State last week 52-7 They were going for the bottom feeder title after losing to Idaho the week before.
App State doesn't care. They destroy bad teams. Average score against Sun belt teams 44-8. That includes last week's 31-13 victory over the next best team Georgia Southern.
App State will likely start out slowly after last weeks big win over their rival. But once they kick it in, Troy will get destroyed.
The trends favor the Mountaineers. They are 10-3 against the spread.

Kansas City -3.5 versus Detroit - Let me see if I got this correct. Detroit hires a QB coach with no play calling experience and make him the offensive coordinator. He sucked so they fire him, and then promote their QB coach with no play calling experience to offensive coordinator.
Not only that, but rather than wait for the bye week when most teams make these kind of last ditch moves, they do it when they have to fly to London. Yup, that's my Lions.
The rest of the NFL licks their chops when facing the putrid KC secondary but the Lions offensive line is terrible They couldn't protect Stafford against a defensive line consisting of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Stephen Hawking.. The Chiefs pass rush will keep Stafford from finding Megatron.
And Alex Smith usually doesn;t score teams with his check down dink and dunk attacke. But it will be more then Detroit can handle.
Hey, I suck in picking the NFL. I'm probably doing the Lions a favor. The sharp money is taking the Lions and moved the spread down from 5.5 They don't know the Lions

I'll take a few more Mini Megas this week with:
Georgia Tech -5.5 @ Virginia - the record of the teams Tech has faced since week 2 is 35-7. The schedule starts to get easier.
Clemson -10.5 @ NC State - NC State is a fraud. they haven't beaten anyone with a pulse. Clemson will go or style points.
San Diego State -3.5 @ Colorado State - San Diego State is hitting thier stride. CSU is fading.
Florida International -2.5 @ Florida Atlantic - Huge CUSA rivalry game. Fla Intl is much better than Fla Atlantic.
I'll also go with a Point Whore Parlay with
Rutgers +20.5 @ Wisconsin - Once again, the badgers should give 20+ points to anyone.
UTEP +24.5 @ Southern Miss - UTEP is just good enough to keep this within 3 TDs
Vandy +12.0 @ Houston - The Dores defense will keep this game close
The Sheriff got back on the 1-2 train last week. Much like the Spartans. he is going to take a bye this week in order to heal his ailing prediction capabilities
And for all the games, spreads, picks and much much more here is the Week 9 Bettors Guide
