OK, the picks are in. I revised some of my picks and updated the last post. Now i have a rooting interest in all the games.
But to really get into a game you need to pick a team against the spread. As Mrs H said "The spread makes sure makes watching the game a whole lot different" . Or something like that.
And at the risk of jinxing it - I ususally do pretty good during Bowl season. Last year I went 5-2 Mega Betting the Bowls. If I were to make a second visit to Vegas Baby it would be during the Bowls. But Mrs Doofus has other ideas.....
Saturday, there are 5 games - I'll take a Mega Bet on
Arkansas State +2.5 vs La Tech - Arkansas State is on a roll since they got QB Fredi Knighton back from IR. Knighton is 7-0 throwing for 19 TDs vs just 7 picks. The Red Wolves have scored over 50 points in three straight games.
No doubt , La Terch can keep pace. Their QB is Florida transfer Jeff Driskell. With him under center, the Bulldogs finished 20th in scoring offense. But he was benched in Gainesville for being turnover prone, something that reoccurred in his last game - a loss to Southern Miss - where he threw three picks.
Arkansas State will be battling adversity. Their leading tackler was busted on drug charges earlier this week. I think they rally and put a beat down on La Tech.
I like taking quality teams playing up a weight class. Arkansas State is a quality Sun Belt team.
I'll also put a mini mega on the over of 67.5
Here are some other Mini Megas for this weekend.

Arizona -8.0 vs New Mexico - Arizona was a huge disappointment this season. But bowl season can do wonders for a teams health. The WIldcats QB Anu Solomon, RB Nick Wilson and their best defensive player LB Sccoby Wright are finally healthy after battling injuries most of the year.
New Mexico is just happy to be in a bowl game after years of futility. Arizona will be more motivated even though New Mexico will be playing on thier home turf.
Oakland +3.0 vs Green Bay - I still think Aaron Rodgers is injured. And one good game against Dallas down't men that Eddie Lacy is back. Oakland is pretty good against the run and will keep Lacy at bay.
The Raiders Amari Cooper should have a field day against a mediocre Packer defense missing Sam Shields. I'll take Oakland in the Black Hole getting points.

And after a long hiatus - the Sheriff of Malibu is back!
Here are his 2015 Bowl Season picks
The Sheriff got 6 of 10 right year so he’s going for at least 7 this time. He has a bias towards the PAC-12 but that is understandable given his love of his quiet little beach community (“stay out of Malibu, Lebowski”).
New Mexico (+9) over Arizona. New Mexico Bowl. The Wildcats have been a disappointment this year after winning the PAC-12 South last year, and New Mexico has had its best year in forever (7-5) under Bob Davie. Arizona’s motivation is questionable whereas New Mexico will be playing in its own stadium and in its first bowl game since 2007. I’ll take the Lobos and the points.
Doofus: Looking at last year playing in your home state seems to be a disadvantage. I'll stick with a healthy Arizona
Utah (-2.5) over BYU. Vegas Bowl. This is a Holy War with both teams genuinely hating each other. Should be a great game.
Western Michigan (-3) over Middle Tennessee State. Bahamas Bowl. This game was a shootout last year 49-48, and I’m hoping for a repeat in the Caribbean this year. Don’t know anything about Middle Tennessee but I saw Western Michigan play Sparty tough for 3 quarters in Week 1 so I will take the Broncos.
Washington State (-2.5) over Miami. Sun Bowl. The Sheriff loves Wazzu and will enjoy watching Mike Leach and that offense take over the West Texas town of El Paso. Cougs win big.
Indiana (-2) over Duke. Pinstripe Bowl. Indiana is the best 6-6 team in the country with heartbreaking losses to Ohio St, Michigan, and Michigan State. The Hoosiers will be playing in their first bowl game since 2007 and should be highly motivated.
USC (-3) over Wisconsin. Holiday Bowl. The Sheriff hates to pick Southern Cal but the Condoms should have no trouble handling the Badgers down in San Diego.
Cal (-7) over Air Force. Armed Forces Bowl. Don’t know how well the Cal defense will handle the Air Force triple option, but if Jared Goff throws for 5-6 touchdowns it won’t matter. This could be Goff’s last collegiate game.
Northwestern (+8.5) over Tennessee. Outback Bowl. Purple vs Orange. Big 10 vs SEC. Gotta love it. I will take NU and that stingy defense and the 8.5 (though I’m hoping they win outright).
Stanford (-6.5) over Iowa. Rose Bowl. I went back and forth on this one, because Iowa is for real and they have the toughness to go toe-to-toe with Stanford, but I think Christian McCaffrey will make enough big plays on both offense and special teams to give Stanford the cover.
Oregon (pk) over TCU. Alamo Bowl. Oregon has beaten both the PAC-12 North champion AND the PAC-12 South champion in recent weeks and is one of the hottest teams in the country. Plus Vernon Adams is healthy and has finally figured out how to run that high-powered Ducks’ offense.
