PictureMrs. H was a gracious hostess - she let me root for Oregon
Mr. and Mrs. H. hosted an all day football party watching extravaganza on Saturday. Bruce and Chris ventured over around noon to watch Northwestern down Purdue. Bruce was hooting all over Chris as the Cats downed the Boilers 21-14.

I missed the early session. I had some Doofus duties to perform. Mrs. Doofus wanted me to check out a tub for the new Doofus Manor. I was able to get my oversized behind in there so we were good to go.

I hurried home to catch the second half of the Spartan game. The Spartan defense was back to what it should have been last week - tough against the run, forcing turnovers - it was a nice display.

The offense? No doubt - when Connor Cook is on the offense hums. But when he is off, it flails. What makes him a first round draft candidate is that he combines a strong arm with excellent touch. But on Saturday he injured his shoulder. His touch was off and his passes were going all over the place. Dantonio wisely benched him.

PictureLast week we put our losing bets into the Official Cup of Infamy
What I liked is that Dantonio also decided to go right to the ground game. The opening drive of the second half consisted of 12 runs, no passes, 62 yards and a TD. Stop us if you can you damn Turtles. They couldn't. Sparty rammed it up their butts and clinched the game 24-7.

Win and cover. Nice.

I ventured down to the party. Chris and Bruce returned. Mrs. H's parents also came over. Food and adult beverages were served. A great time

We got to see a bunch of great games too. scUM-Indiana (double OT!), Bama @ Mississippi State, Oklahoma @ Baylor and, of course, Mrs H's favorite team Stanford hosting Oregon

And while all that was going on I was asking for some live look ins at the Mega Bet games.

BYU -6.0 @ Missouri (Arrowhead Stadium) - I totally misjudged the motivation factor. Mizzou did something they rarely do - score TDs. They got 2 in the fourth quarter to win 20-16. Should have taken the under. LOSS

Middle Tennessee State -5.5 @ Florida Atlantic - I got away with one here. MTSU jumped to a 24-17 lead after 3 quarters. On Florida Atlantic's last two drives they got inside the 20 and 10 respectively. Both times the went for it on 4th down and failed. The Blue Raiders held on to win 24-17. WIN

Minnesota +11.5 @ Iowa - I love betting Minnesota now. They get points and cover. Iowa scored a TD with 2 minutes to go to up the lead to 40-28. I was just missing getting the cover. I knew Minnesota would go for a TD as a FG did them no good. They get the ball at their 25, and punch it in in under a minute.

PictureBy Mid-day, we had to supersize it and it was still overflowing
More improtantly they use up all their timeouts. If they get the onside then Minnesota has a chance to win outright. If they miss, Iowa will run out the clock.

The onside fails, Iowa goes into the victory formation and wins 40-25 WIN

The Mini Megas went even better

Ohio State -16.5 @ Illinois - Unfortunately for State, OSU just plays a lot better with JT Barret under center. Behind the running of Barrett and Elliott, the BuckNuts crushed Illinois 28-3 WIN

Oklahoma +2.5  Baylor - I'm putting Oklahoma in my Final Four. They are playing as good as anyone in beating Baylor 44-34 WIN

Georgia Southern -6.5 @ Troy - The Eagles lit up the Trojans 45-10 easy WIN

Marshall -12.0 vs Florida International - Marshall went one better winning 52-0, an even easier WIN

Looks like I picked the wrong week to go to Vegas. I went 32-26 overall, 2-1 on the Mega Bets and 4-0 on the Mini Megas. It would have been a profitable weekend.

Remember - the 2016 Go JUMBO trip is Nov 5th 2016 at the Westgate Resort. Start making your plans now!
