Disarray.
That’s the best way to describe the ongoing refresh of the Westgate SuperBook.
And disappointing so far.
The good news is the new Jumbotrons are real and they are spectacular. Just fantastic!
But as for the rest - for the regulars of the GO JUMBO trip – they are in the process of swapping sides between the race betting and the sports betting sides. So far so good. But I don’t know who was the planner – the transition is all screwed up. They have moved the sports broadcasts to the new side but not the seating. So the pony bettors are sitting on the right watching the TVs on the left and the sports bettors are doing the reverse.
Everyone is ending up the night with cricked necks.
Not only that but the area where the tables we liked to sit at is roped off and half the comfy seats are gone too. It was always crowded on NFL Sundays. It’s going to be a zoo now.
Of course, they haven’t touched the open area where the racing bettors sit yet. Their area hasn’t been touched – yet.
The tables we liked, have been moved back to in front and to the side of that diner in the back. We may just go there.
I’m not sure what is taking so long, the carpeting and for the most part the seating is still the same.
Now here is the worst part They have adopted the drink coupon concept@!
Crap.
You get one drink coupon for every $50 you wager.
You know, the reason we picked the LVH/Westgate was because of the huge SuperBook, free drinks and being able to smoke cigars.
The cigar smoking was outlawed a couple of year back.
Now the SuperBook is crowded and all blowed up and now they want to charge for drinks.
We decided to open up the competition. Today we are going to check out some new sportsbooks starting with the Red Rock. It may be time to make a move.
While the setting was quite disappointing, the betting was pretty good. I won 2 out of 3 Mini Megas and a quatloo bet
Cincinnati -12.0 vs Cleveland – Johnny Football made it interesting for a half when he led the Browns to a TD to cut the lead to 14-10 with 19 seconds left in the first half.
After that, he sucked, just as expected. Cleveland only manged 32 yards and 2 first downs as the Bengals blew out Cleveland 31-10 WIN

Mississippi State -8.0 @ Missouri – In a torrential downpour during the first half, Mississippi State had eked out a 14-13 lead. The Bulldogs scored 17 unanswered in the 3rd quarter as they destroyed Mizzou 31-13.
Mississippi State @ Missouri Under 43.0 – But it was the last MSU TD that pissed me off. It put the total at 44. Woz was laughing – he took the over LOSS
Not only did that last TD screw up a Mini Mega but it blew up a parlay too. What would have been a very profitable night was just mildly profitable.
The income statement was helped by a quatloo win on Arkansas State +11.0 @ App State. Down 21-14 in the 2nd quarter, Arkansas State reeled off 26 straight points as they upset App State 40-27.
Woz won all his bets but one. His bet on Western -15 vs ball State turned out to have the biggest margin of victory vs the spread when the downed the Cardinals 54-7.
He also got the first NHL wager win of the weekend when the Habs downed the Islanders 4-1.
The only bet he lost was the one I warned him about – Baylor -17.0 @ Kansas State. The Big Flippy wanted the over 67.0 on that game too. I told Mike and Woz that I would stay away because of a freshman QB starting for Baylor. Neither listened.
KSU kept it close as the Bears won 31-24. KSU covered and the game went under.
But other than the Big Flippy’s minor loss we are making money down in the (disarrayed) SuperBook.
Going with one Mini Mega tonight.

Temple -13.5 @ SMU – OK, I’ve lost two Mega Bets on Temple so there is no way I’m going to Mega Bet this game. But I will take a Mini Mega on an Owl team rebounding after a crushing loss to NS last week.
Temple proved they are for real last week in just missing against the Domers. Now with the spotlight off they can get back to playing Temple ball, tough defense and a running game.
SMU will have no answer for Owl RB Jahad Thomas. The Mustang defense is awful. They have only let up less than 40 points once since week 2 and that was 38 points to South Florida two weeks ago.
Temple will roll as they try to get that bad taste out of their mouths.
GO JUMBO!
