So far the picks have been average going 13-14-1. But the Over Unders have been great. I'm 6-1-1 on the O/U
The big boys are getting ready to play in the big bowls today. time to make some Big Boy Bets.
Houston +7.0 vs Florida State - FSU's seniors are trying to set the record for wins over 4 years with 50 at noon today. defense has been the calling card for the Seminoles this year. The D was the first to hold every regualr opponenet to under 25 points since Bama back in 2011.
The defense was helped by the rushing attack led by RB Dalvin Cook. Cook had 1,658 yards, 18 TDs and led Div 1A in the number of rushes of 20+ yards (22).
Houston was the poster child for the Group of 5 teams and already scored their biggest win when first year head Coach Tom Herman inked an extension anf a doubling of salary that kept him from bolting for greener pastures. The Cougars are led by dynamic QB Greg Ward. had 1,658 yards passing, 16 TDs against only 5 picks. He is also dangerous running the ball. he led all QBs with runs over 20 yards with 16.
The Cougar defense was also solid ranking 19th on scoring defense and 12th against the run. They were 2nd in turnover margin notching 20 takeaways. But FSU has been careful with the ball leading the ACC in fewest turnovers.
The key matchup in this game is in the trenches. FSU has a decided edge. The Noles have three All ACC DL while Houston has three ffreshman OL.
My head is saying take the Noles but my heart is saying Houston. What the hell - its the holidays. I'll lay a Mega Bet on Houston to get a back door cover.

Oklahoma -3.5 vs Clemson - So many angles on this game. Clemson is playing the disrespected angle as everyone is questioning the schedule.
Who is the better QB? Clemson's DeShaun Watson who finished 3rd in the Heisman voting or Oklahoma's Baker Mansfield who finished 4th. Ironically, neither played in last years matchup. Watson was injured while Mayfield was ineligible due to transfer rules.
Speaking of last year - is this a huge revenge game for the Sooners? They gave up, yup, plain old quit in last years Russel Athletic Bowl when they got crushed by Clemson 40-6.
And how about some of the Clemson players starting the New Years partying a bit early. Three players including the extra point kickerAmmon Lakip and explosive WR Deon Cain were suspended for the game for failing druge tests.
Oklahoma took off this year after a midseason gaffe to Texas. Since then they have won 7 games in a row averaging 52 points per game. Mayfield has help on the offense with RB Samaje Perine toting the rock. Perine had 1,291 yds rushing this year giving him 3,000 yards in his first two seasons. The only other Sooner with 3,000 yards in his first two seasons was Adrian Peterson. Not bad company.
The Sooner defense ranked 22nd in points allowed this year at 20.8. Quite a feat in the high scoring Big 12. Clemson's defense was eeily similar allowing 20.2 points per game, ranking 18th.
The Clemson offense revolves around Watson. He passed for over 260 yards in eight of his last none games while running for over 100yards in four of the last five. He gets help from RB Artivus Scott's 1,332 yards and 10 TDs.
These teams are fairly evenly matched up. Outstanding offenses and defenses. So what angle to play? Go with the disrespect angle or the revenge angle. Go with the undefeated ACC champ falling in the playoffs or Stoops falling on his face in the big game angle.
When in doubt take the points but this time I'm going to lay the points and take Oklahoma to cover. Make it a Mega Bet.
I'll put a quatloo on the under 66.0 too.
Michigan State +9.5 vs Alabama - No analysis necessary. This is way to many points in a game featruing two evenly matched teams. I'd Mega Bet it too if I didn't jinx the Spartans back on the Go Jumbo trip.
