Gunner Stockton kept UGA in the game, winning in the 4th quarter The best thing about Vanderbilt’s win over LSU on Saturday was how unsurprising it was. The Vandy students didn’t even rush the field. They knew that their team could and should beat a flawed LSU team.
While your at it Vandy, Indiana just signed an Cignetti for 8 years at $93 million (he’ll be 72 at the end of the contract), perhaps you can find $90 million to re-up HC Clark Lea. He has the Dores at #10, just beat his second top 10 team in 12 months and has QB Diego Pavia on the Heisman hunt.
The Dores are now 5-1 for the first time since 1950 and a shot at finishing 10-2 and looking mighty nice come Selection Sunday.

BYU edged Utah 24-21 in one of the best games of the day Someone who should be getting your Heisman love but is overlooked is Georgia Tech’s Haynes King. He has the 7th-ranked Yellow Jackets (7-0, 4-0 ACC) off to their first 7-0 start since 1966, following their 27-18 win at Duke.

For the record, Fritz won two FCS national championships at Sam Houston, a Sun Belt title at Georgia Southern and a Cotton Bowl win at Tulane. Now he’s winning in the Big 12.

Alex Mortensen is actually a competent HC unlike Trent Dilfer Crap! UAB fired HC Trent Dilfer. I was counting on Dilfer to mislead the Blazer to under 4.5 wins on the season. UAB appointed OC Alex Mortensen (son of Chris Mortensen) as interim HC. And what does Alex do, he leads UAB, as 21.5 point underdogs, to a stunning upset of #21 Memphis 21-14. UAB now has three wins and probably more to come.

The Tide is rolling Baby! With Bama’s 37-20 win over Tennessee, the Tide became the first team to win 4 consecutive games vs. AP Top 25 teams without any bye weeks or extra rest. Amazing.

Kelly just lost to one of his former DCs in Clark Lea. Another awaits him with Mike Elko and Texas A&M. Then Kelly gets to go to Alabama after an idle week. Good luck with that.

QB Dequan Finn leads Miami (OH) in rushing LSU Team Total Under 23.5 @ Texas A&M – The LSU locker room must be reeling right now after losing to Vandy. That all in mantra is now out the window. Facing A&M is not what they need right now.

Wake Forest +3.5 vs SMU – SMU is not last year’s SMU. They are much worse. Yeah, they won a red circle game against Clemson but Clemson is not the same and was without QB Cade Klubnik. They are 3-0 in ACC play but the other wins were over the dregs of the conference, Syracuse and Stanford.
Wake is much improved at 4-2 and could easily be 5-1 if not for a failed two-point conversion in OT against currently unbeaten Georgia Tech. Much of the turnaround is due to the defense which has gone from 124th last year to 38th this year.
It’s a classic sandwich game for SMU which beat Clemson last week and has Miami (FL) coming to Dallas next week. I’ll take the better trending team at home getting the points
Miami (OH) -1.5 vs Western Michigan – These teams are mirror images of each other. Both started out 0-3 to start the season and then have gone 4-0 in the MAC. Miami (OH) is going to do what it always does. The RedHawks run the ball well, and they play great defense, limiting big plays as well as any team in the country. Their QB Dequion Finn leads the team in rushing
Western Michigan has done the same thing, run the ball, play great defense and limit the big plays. And their QB Broc Lowry leads the team in rushing.
They do the same thing but Miami (OH) does it a little better. And I trust Finn in a big game more than Lowry.
I’ll take the better team at home with a small spread.
