The Pols met at the Governors mansion on Sunday and then Kelly was fired That Brian Kelly got canned was not surprising. The team was not meeting expectations, as the saying goes, The fact the he was a horses petard of a human being didn’t help.
What also doesn’t help is that the state is getting involved. The Governor decided that AD Scott Woodward would not be finding the next head coach. Woodward not only hired Kelly leaving the State of Louisiana in the hook for a $53 million buyout but also hired Jimbo Fisher resulting in a $77 million buyout. The guy was playing fast and loose with other people’s money.
Woodward also renegotiated reinstated and renegotiated men’s basketball coach Will Wade’s contract in the midst of an FBI investigation only to be fired following an official NCAA notice of allegations.

He was also Cincy’s leading rusher with 85 yards on the ground during the 41-20 win over Baylor on Saturday, and could be in-store for a 1,000-yards rushing by season’s end.

Indiana won by 50+ again last week Last week I went 2-1 again to bring the overall record to 15-13. The loss was LSU scoring 25 when I had the team total under 23.5. Only two teams have scored 24 points or less on offense in an FBS-versus-FBS game this season: LSU and North Carolina. LSU’s offense only scored 23 but the defense racked up a safety giving me the loss.

Their 56-6 demolition of UCLA marked the first time since 2018 (Clemson) that a Power 4 team has won multiple conference games by at least 50 points in the same season.
Maryland hasn’t won against a ranked team since 2010 – before they joined the Big Ten. With the Terp’s desperate for a win after losing 3 straight, a sell out Homecoming crowd in full boisterousness, Cignetti will do what he always does, crush your spirits, stomp on your dreams and steal your puppy while he is at it.

After starting the season with two crushing losses the Cougars changed QBs and the defense tightened up. Since week 3 WSU has yet to let up more than 24 points against some quality offenses too – Ole Miss (24) Virginia (20) and Toledo (7). The result is a 4-0 ATS streak.
Oregon State wishes they had Jonathan Snith back. They notched their first win of the season over a bad FCS team Lafayette, a team that was leading 13-10 at the half. The offense is bad, the defense is worse (5 of seven FBS teams have scored 34+ points). Even the Special teams suck. The kicker is 4-10 on FGs (1-4 from 40+ yards)
This could get ugly fast.
Cincinnati +10.5 @ Utah – Both teams are 6-2 but the Utes have consistently fallen short against better competition. Utah is 1-2 against the spread against ranked teams this year and lost outright in both contests as a favorite.
Utah has some good defensive stats but it has also faced only one competent passing attack (Texas Tech) and gave up 34 points on 6.7 yards per play. Tech was playing with its backup QB halfway through the game Cincy’s Sorsby will be the best quarterback this defense has faced all season by a mile.
Utah helps it defense with a strong run game and the Cincinnati defense has allowed teams to move the ball, but it bows up when it matters. The Bearcats have the second-best red-zone defense in the country.
10.5 is way to big a spread. I’ll take the potent Bearcat offense to keep this one close.
